The Child With Special Needs: Encouraging Intellectual and Emotional Growth (Merloyd Lawrence Book)

As a parent of a child with Special Needs, I needed a reference book to support my knowledge and this is a useful book to refer to. The health/education professionals often don't have time to educate parents. Nor do they have knowledge of other issues outside their sphere. And there isn't any clear professional input for this subject ie intellectual & emotional development. This book helped me with context, although some of the language is quite technical.

I've only read the first 30 pages, but it's already given me an insight to my son's behaviour and how best to react to him. I'd recommend this to all family of extra care kids.

Get down on your knees and play with you child! That is the message of this book, to me. Follow him around, Do what he does. Pay attention to him. Engage! I did this and I think it helped my son to sparkle. Do it!
