Interpretation of Dreams (Wordsworth Classics of World Literature)

This book is very interesting. Good for any dreamer. Don’t want to spoil the rest because everyone deserves to get to know themselves through their dreams and to bring them into their own reality.

Perfect addition to library

We all know Freud. Just because he is well known does not mean he is easy to read. I made the mistake of trying to read this book on my own and found it perplexing to say the least. Many times Freud will quote an excerpt from another language that he doesn't bother to translate. I don't speak french..... If this fact doesn't deter you, the methodology of his writing might. Freud approached his field with a more organized style and a scientific mindset, and I believe that shows through in this book, which can almost read like a scientific journal. You will definitely need to work through this book and not expect to fly through it, even if many of the ideas he delves into are already commonplace nowadays (they are more revolutionary in his time).Apart from the difficult read, like that of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness", it is always fun to pull out a quote from Freud while amidst a debate among friends at a poker game. I believe that if this book is approached with a more studious mindset than I had, and is paired with the history of that time and a better understanding of the languages Freud quotes, it would be a good read. The book itself is light, but the material is heavy. Maybe see if the Dummies series has a book on psychology....

Book came damaged. Corner of the book was messed up and seemed like water got into the pages.

If you want to understand the human mind deeply, you must read this one. A classic of the creator of the psychoanalysis.

I'm still reading and it answers some of my questions about interpretation(s)

He has some clear pages but most of the time he is just too confident for no real reason :) too many layers of abstracting and most links lost or not convincing.
