Great maps!
The large size makes it easy to read at a distance and the spiral binding means you can have it protected in a door or seat pocket and open it to the state you need and leave it open on a seat. Its large enough to hunt down and mark small roads and landmarks during your travels. And of course its up to date with the latest road closures or new ones as its made every year.I like to take my jeep down little known trails and roads in AZ to visit ruins and desert features. This map makes it easy to pinpoint where you are visiting for future reference. It also has detailed major road maps of the major cities in each state. Very easy to find the state and or city|town you want to visit or to plot your path across states you visit. Years ago, State Farm used to give me one of these every year for having insurance. They dont seem to do that any more, but this book of maps is so useful, I'll likely buy a new one every couple of years. Its hard to get lost in the USA when you have these. Much better than relying on GPS devices that often are only updated every few years and you dont need electricity to use these (grin).Well worth the purchase cost!

Love this!
Great product! Large size is easy to read. The spiral bound allows it to lay flat. I am a road tripper so will be highlighting my trips to keep a record. Will be perfect when out in the wilderness with no internet connection.

Comes with pros and cons
Whether this road atlas will meet your travel needs will come down to understanding its pros and cons. The bottom line is that this is a LARGE atlas that's purposely designed to be easier to read, which has some downsides. As you'll see, some pros are also cons.PROS: (1) Easy to read. (2) Good quality print and a decent amount of detail for a general atlas. (3) The spiral binding makes it easier to open the atlas and should theoretically make it more durable. (4) It includes major cities/towns for each state as well as a national parks. CONS: (1) States are split between multiple pages, which makes it more challenging to follow some roads/routes since they don't always line up. This can be confusing and annoying. (2) Weighing a hefty 2.8 pounds, this atlas is quite large and heavy and some people might find it inconvenient to use. (3) While the spiral binding makes it easier to open the atlas and keep it open, if you're not careful turning the pages, you can easily rip them. (4) The maps of major cities/towns are not very detailed and offer a basic idea of their layout at best. (5) Quite a bit of detail is missing when looking at smaller roads in remote areas. If you need such fine detail for your travels (especially when hiking and camping), you will need a more specialized atlas like the Benchmark Road & Recreation Atlas or the Delorme Atlas & Gazetteer. For comparison, please see the two pictures from Mexican Hat to Bluff on 163: the picture with more detail being from the Utah Benchmark Road & Recreation Atlas.Overall, this is a good general road atlas that's definitely useful when planning road trips. As long as you're aware of its cons and limitations and can live with them, you'll find it a good atlas that will serve you well. Happy travels.
