Briggs & Stratton 82V MAX 2.0 Lithium-ion Battery for Snapper XD Cordless Electric Tools

Updated 5/1/2021 - so far so good! one battery took care of 1/4 acre of grass with a bit of power to spare. we have more grass i need to get to but for now a great start imho.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------i recently picked up the Snapper XD 82V MAX Cordless Electric 19" Push Lawn Mower which comes with two batteries. i wanted to have a third, a spare to have in hand for on down the road. i have yet to test any of these for longevity, that will take at least a couple months to know once things start growing and they get used frequently.that said the battery is exactly the same as what comes with the 'Snapper' mower. comes with about a half charge. to bring it up to fully charged from that point takes about 30 minutes give or take. so it charges up just the same as the others, no difference whatsoever. there were no obvious quality control defects.all said so far so good, but absolutely will update this review once these batteries get some mileage behind them.TIP - to charge the battery look at the battery bottom first. you'll see at the bottom end a series of horizontal lines, small holes with one slightly larger but round hole just off to the side. then look at the charger and you'll see where it slides in and the holes line up with the pins to insert in the charger. only mentioned as it's a little counterintuitive as you put the battery in the charger upside down as a result.

Great to get one fast so lawn could get mowed, after two years one battery went bad and took out charger???

To be honest, I didn't know what to expect from this charger or from the batteries. I'm used to 20 volt batteries for drills and impact drivers so I have no experience batteries or chargers in high voltage ranges. I recall the drastic improvement from NiCad batteries and chargers to Lithium-Ion batteries and chargers. The differences were astounding. Longer use time, no degradation during use and quick charge cycles. In my opinion, the change to the higher voltage/current batteries and chargers is almost as drastic as the change from NiCad to Lithium-Ion. The charge time for the 82V batteries is almost identical to my 20V Cordless Drill batteries and that is from dead flat to fully charged. The charger indications are pretty much the same as other chargers but with one big difference. This charger has a cooling fan to handle the additional heat from the higher voltage and current. The fan goes off at the end of the charging cycle so you have another indication. The fan tells you that the battery is charging and if the fan is off the battery is charged. Impressive, easy to use and high quality. What more could you ask?

I received the product in a timely manner, but it appeared to have been previously opened. The battery would not charge, even on a brand new charging base. Return instructions on Amazon conflicted with the instructions that came with the product. I contacted the seller via both methods and received a snarky reply. I returned the item but had to pay for shipping which could be done only by ground shipping due to the hazardous material, which cost $11.65 via USPS which was the most cost effective. Item tracking showed that it was delivered 8/14. When I had not received a refund a week later, I contacted the seller again and only then did a refund get processed. Not a good transaction experience at all. Would give this product and seller a rating of ZERO if it were an option.

Got this because the original battery included with the lawnmower died and generic batteries tend to be garbage.

I bought the 4Ah battery; I already have the leaf blower and a 2Ah pack it came with. I didn't think about it before I bought this, but it is a) heavier, and b) longer than the 2Ah. It still locks into place into the leaf blower because, if you look closely, the plastic catch on the pack is about half the way down the pack, while on the 2Ah pack the catch is about 3/4ths way to the end. The weight and balance is not so good with the leaf blower. It leans backwards when held by the handle, and it has a longer rear-end. So, tradeoffs. The plus side is it lasts a lot longer before needing a charge. Also, I feel it is easier on the batteries when spending a lot of time on the top speed to have the 4Ah pack (I'll be discharging them at half the rate vs the ones used in the 2Ah pack). Blowing leaves I don't spend much time at top speed, but blowing dust in a parking lot structure I spend all the time at top speed.I paid a lot less, as I got it from Warehouse Deals, otherwise I'd probably not get it just for the leaf blower. Seems its best match, considering the weight, is for the lawn mower. It's going to be kind of heavy to use with the hedge trimmer or the weed wacker.

Bought this as a replacement as my old one only keeps a charge for maybe 15 minutes after over 7 years of use; This one can hold a charge for 45 minutes, and works as expected.
