Great tool for every gym-goer
I have run several programmes in the past, mainly focusing around powerlifting, with an initial period of just general fitness and mass gain, and believe this log works well for both. This log has an excellent cookie cutter template for programmes such as Stronglifts 5x5 or ice cream fitness 5x5 due to its ease of use and easy to understand layout. The book outlines setting goals based on a session by session basis, allowing you to note down factors like overall tempo, and any additional notes; such as RPE, pre session nutrition, or overall feel of the session, which can be a great help when trying to identify key factors that may be limited or facilitating progress after the noob gains period has ended. There is plenty of room to list each exercise, especially in high volume splits such as push, pull, leg (PPL) or overall body part splits, with each exercise allowing you to record up to 5 sets in one line. For the most part 5 sets is normally enough for most programmes but those following very high volume templates; such as GVT, it may become annoying , although I found a quick way round this by just listing the same exercise in the below slot and continuing to track from there.Due to 5 sets trying to be squeezed onto one sheet of A5 it can be difficult to list larger numbers, or common decimals in the small boxes given to list the weight of your exercise, which in turn makes looking at previous sessions a bit difficult from time to time, although those with smaller handwriting should have no issues at all. For most advanced training templates; and some beginner ones, there may be different focuses on the style of exercise e.g tempo/speed work, time under tension work, or basic strength work, in which it is important to distinguish between exercises styles to help log and track progress in certain areas/ organise your training schedule, this is something the log can do very well due to its generous room to list your exercises each session, which means you can easily write little notes underneath each exercise to outline minor details. One minor flaw is the lack of being able to track wave based periodization to help with ease of session templates and set/rep/weight goals. Those following templates such as GZCL may be familiar with regularly changing estimated 1/2RM, in which every session has parts based around %1/2rm. There is no designated page to help track regularly changing goals such as these which can make planning a bit of a nuisance, possibly an extra couple of the pages at the back could help? The log itself is made of high quality material and has so far survived being held loose in my gym bag, alongside lifting shoes, chalk, wraps, and other equipment, which seemed to have only made minor damage to the front cover; which is to be expected. It’s compact A5 size means it’s easy to throw in your gym bag, and carry around the gym with you, and can be a lot easier to makes detailed notes in compared to some smartphone apps available.TL;DR - The book allows great tracking on a session by session basis, which is excellent for both experienced and new gym-goers, alike, those using very tailored training patterns e.g using conjugate periodization may need additional tools to help track long term goals and objectives, but this log gives a great way to measure and monitor your gym progress over time, I would highly recommend!

They are not guns... they are onions... Why? Cos they make you cry.
It turns out, that I used to be half hearted in the gym, but now I can write down my exercises, rep's and weight in this handy log, I am training better & have a good track of progress.Warning: May assist in muscle growth....Well laid out, easy to read, tables have enough space to fill out, good font used, has a comments box which is good. Will buy another when its full. Top product.

Great Item, Very well thought out
I really like this diary. It's ideal for measuring your progress and I am really pleased with the way they set it out; clearly the company behind this are avid gym goers themselves and developed this book to evolve with a concise, thorough layout. Just wish I could remember to bring it with me each time.

Excellent log book with decent space to write in.
Having just filled my 2017/2018 log book of the same brand, I was more than happy to purchase the 2018/2019 log to continue tracking my progress. The log book gets straight to the point without all the gumph and filler you see in similar books available, and lastly, the paper fills a bit heavier than last years, which is nice too. I dare say my 2019/2020 book will be the same purchase again :)

Great, easy to use and practical
I bought this diary as I used to write my own, but it got scrappy and trying to draw lines in an a5 book used to really gripe me! This book have everything, I rarely do more than 5 sets so the structure is perfect, it has a little cardio section, a notes section, rest period and tempo if you’re doing pause reps etc. Really great! The first page has a secrion for putting your goals down, back page has a weight and inches measurement so you can track your progress. Really easy to use and save me lots of time. Only reason I’ve put 4 stars is the paper is a hit flimsy and I dropped a bit of sweat on it and it tore pretty much straight away, so I’d avoid leaning forward and using it if you’re a sweaty mess like I am!

Meh - a little disappointed, but will stick with it
I was kind of expecting more to be honest, I know it's only a note book really, but I was expecting hardback over paperback - would be easier to make in when work it out. Also the paper feels poor quality. Could have printed out some pages at home and made my own.Still the layout of the pages is good and easy to see progress with once it's completed.

Fantastic log book, would definitely recommend
I bought this for my brother for Christmas and I must say I was so impressed I decided to get another for myself! It's the perfect size to fit in your gym bag and will make things much easier when it comes to tracking exercises. Before I just used to use the notes app on my phone and it was incredibly messy and hard to keep track of. With this, everything is organised neatly and it will make it much easier to see my progress and remember how much I should be lifting each session. There are even a couple of pages at the back to track body measurements. Would definitely recommend!

Nice simple gym diary
Bought to keep track of workouts and progress. Straight forward book, space to write in the type of exercise and the number of sets, reps and weights. Section on each page for notes ie body measurements.
