Does what it says
Arrived promptly & as indicated. Only had the chance to test it out on a small workshop project fitting some concealed flush fixings.The outer sheath has a novel bevel on the lower edge which allows it to seat properly in the hinge/fixing to correctly guide the drill bit to the centre. Action is smooth & quick.We’ll pleased with this addition to my drilling arsenal.

Tighten the drill bit first!
When using it for the first time, the pilot drill bit detached and remained in the door. Had to disassemble carefully not to snap drill bit, remove drill bit from door and reassemble with Allen key to tighten the drill bit. All good now!

It does the job.
I bought this for fitting hinges to hardwood boxes with #6 (3.5mm) brass screws. My first test was with a hand held drill, and I was dismayed that the hole was visibly off centre. When I tried it with a drill press however it was fine - so operator error with the hand held drill.It's a well made tool and doesn't suffer from the problems which have been reported in the negative reviews of the cheap sets offered on this site.A previous reviewer mentioned that Trend don't supply supply replacement bits. That's not a problem - standard 2.0mm long series bits fit OK - they're normally 85mm long rather than the 79mm of the supplied bit, but the holder accommodates the extra length. The tool will actually take 2.1mm bits which fit a bit more snugly.

Essential for hinge fitting if you are a numpty like me.
I live in a Victorian house where all the internal doors swing open into the room instead folding back towards the wall. I believe the original purpose was to shield the activities of the occupants of the room from the eyes of one's servants as they entered the room. Unnecessary use of floor space since we let the maid go. Six doors to rehang - one ham fisted diy fiend with dad's chisels, some strips of thick card to keep the clearances equal, and a Snappy Drill Bit Guide. All hinges fitted true and straight, all doors closing perfectly = happy wife.
