great slim line
Great low-pro sub, have used it as the rear in two 5.2.4 setups: one under a couch and another under a bed. Perfect fit for both applications and pair well with front 8" cube subs. YPAO has typically lowered the output by 2-3db compared to fronts so I suppose they could be "boomy" but also could be application specific - they were closer to the listening position/mic in both setups so take that for what you will...

Love it
This subwoofer has done exactly what I need it to - give good sound while fitting in a small space.Pros:- I mounted mine on the wall with the included brackets. The drywall anchors it came with will hold it up, but I wanted some additional strength so I used toggle screws. The fit was awesome. It fits very tight against the wall. At first I didn't think it would slide on the brackets, but it just barely did. Really impressive tolerance control (or I just got lucky)!- I'm not an audiophile, but the sound seems great to me.Cons:- I could have figured this out if I had thought of it, but the tight fit against the wall (or on the ground if you mount it that way) will require some 90 degree RCA adapters. You will smash your cables if you just use straight connections.- This is a nit, but the instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. It is a fold out pamphlet. It is pretty straightforward to mount on the wall (I'm am pretty mechanically inclined though), which is good since the instructions give no detail on how to do it. There are some foam pieces it came with the instructions don't mention. I think they go on the different brackets to keep rattles down, but no mention of them anywhere.Overall I love it. It fits great behind my TV out of sight and away from the kids (my 2 yr old constantly put stuff down the port of my old sub). I was very impressed with the fit onto my wall, which leads me to believe that it won't rattle. I haven't had a chance to crank it up too much, but the sound is good and clear.

Great slim sub for the price - arrived damaged
This is a great 10" powered sub for the price! First off, I'm not a super hardcore audiofile (I replaced a Klipsch 10" for this because of space). I don't play a lot of music in the living room so this is 95% for my 7.1 system watching movies. Perfect for such a setup - small living room - approx 20' x 25'. Having said my praise, it arrived damaged - See pictures. No damage to the shipping box or the box the unit comes in. I'm wondering if this was a customer return and the fix was shotty... or not at all. The enclosure is sub facing down when you pick it up out of the box... the plate holding the electronics was loose hanging down and only attached to the box by the speaker/power wires. The holes for the screws were stripped. Fortunately, I'm handy with this type of thing so I was able to fix it and plug it in to see if it works. Obviously, it works fine, great in fact. No other damage to vital components or the enclosures facade. Frankly, it would take more work/effort to return it than just fix it since it works fine. My wife mentioned, if it was her who purchased it, she'd send it back and not be real happy about it at all. Probably purchase somewhere else.... So, maybe a note to the manufacturer to step up their assembly game because there are quite a few disappointed reviews for that reason.

Arrived damaged, like other have reported.
Product arrived with a hole punched through product packaging and speaker housing, but not through shipping box. Evidently damage occurred before product shipped. At least 5 examples of the same or similar problems have been described by others. Search reviews for "damaged". Return request was approved and I sent it back, but have not yet received a refund.

Fits in the room.
I do not have the largest or best listening room. This unit fits under my entertainment console and on the same plain as my main (Polk ES60's) front speakers. In the center approximately seven feet apart from the sub. The results are dramatic. And above my expectations. Highly recommend for a space saver sub.

Size matters !
It is not as compact as everybody describes it, it is thin, yes, but the rest of measurements are as big as other subwoofers. I have Denon 2.1 system and the Dayton is as tall. The sound is superior, I use it with a pair Elac Debut 6 speakers, but need to work on getting a better receiver. I am more interested in the sound than the size of it, but, size was reviewed as very compact, and it is not.I am keeping it ! because the sound is superior and I am sure that once I get a better receiver I will enjoy the potential it has.

Amazing piece, especially for the price!
Super impressed by the quality of this subwoofer! I have a really nice hi-fi system and was a little hesitant to add a subwoofer, given their often clunky appearance and tendency to overly-color the sound. However, I have a lot of vinyl from punk, post-punk, and low-fi bands which lack low-end in their mixes. Because I have a system that is fairly high-end and very transparent, I decided I wanted to be able to add just a touch of depth for those releases in particular. This sub fit the bill even better than expected! First, the structure is heavy and well-made. I use it horizontally on the floor, beneath my record cabinet. The controls allow for the ability to subtly blend the low-end frequencies into the mix, which it does with precision and ease. It has a small LED light underneath it which indicates whether the sub is in "sleep mode" (red), or being utilized (green). I like that it is not always automatically in use, but it kicks in seamlessly. It is a perfect addition to my system, regardless of whether the music is jazz, rock or low-fi indie, and people who have heard my set-up have been blown away.
