I use my mini fire pit underneath my patio when its raining and I can't use my larger backyard pit. At first it was a fun novelty but as it got colder I kept finding myself needing to add additional heaters around the couch to help keep us warm, fire pit night started to get more and more scarce as it became more work and somewhat less enjoyable. After some research I stumbled upon this and decided to give it a try, WOW it really helps move the heat around!! I never really realized how much heat was just going straight up, this creates a good 2-3'radius of heat that you can really feel!! I no longer need to add additional heat as long as this is in use. HIGHLY recommend!!

Fits loose, easy to knock off or come apart.. have used twice and works fine for my purposes just use caution when using on table.

It works exactly how you think it would, deflects the heat a lot and is half the price of solo stoves. It’s a win win and super easy to put together. Looks nice as well

Regrets. Should had paid more for the Solo Stove Mesa XL version with 3 snap in legs.Thus thing falls apart when lifting it or bumping a table. Not good when a roaring little fire is making it red hot.But, if completely flat storage is your goal. Then buy this over the Solo Stove Mesa XL version.

The pros: very heavy duty metal, won't burn up easily with repeated uses. Unlike the rest, this one is easily disassembled and packed flat great for backpacking. The cons: comes apart easily when reloading wood in the fire pit, but as long as you're careful and wear gloves you're good. Well worth the extra effort if you need this to fold flat and take up as little space as possible but still want a flame spreader. I would also add that the Yefu 7" model that this fits is way better than the Solo XL. It has a secondary and a third afterburn cycle up through the middle, makes everything burn real even

Did not fit on top of Mesa XL stove. would not seat around the rim. 1 leg always 2-3mm out. Bought because more metal on top/sides mean more heat dissipation. Also the side slot/tab assembly was very loose, unit sides came apart when trying to seat on top of stove. I threw it away. Maybe official Solo stove version will be better- it certainly costs 4X more to buy. time will tell.

I bought this to use with our Solo Stove Mesa XL. I was going to get the OEM heat deflector, but this one is better designed for frequent disassembly and can store flat, which is great for a small RV like ours.The deflector does work. It reflects heat back down towards the ground. In fact measuring the ground with an IR temperature gun showed the surrounding gravel was 10-30 degrees (F) warmer over about 24 inch radius. My legs would get quite warm, and even uncomfortably hot, just 12 inches away from the stove. This is a significant improvement on the stove without the deflector.The deflector is easy to set up and seems quite sturdy being made of thick steel. As it's not advertised as stainless steel, presumably it will rust if left exposed to the elements. Depending on what you burn in your stove, the deflector can pick up a coating of black soot. We are using softwood pellets, but will switch to hardwood for our next batch to reduce the soot. The soot wipes off easily with a dry paper towel, but you'll want to wear glovesOne aspect I would like to see improved: instead of slots and hooked tabs to assemble, it would be better to use hinges so the whole thing could just fold flat instead of 5 individual pieces.No carry pouch is provided. We found a sturdy zipper document pouch works.
