For the price, I wasn't expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised by its quality. The surface of the board and chess pieces is very smooth. The locks and hinges are sturdy and hold well. Each piece has a separate storage slot, and the pieces fit securely in the board, making it perfect for taking on the go without worrying about losing them. Another thing the seller has done well is that the bottom of each piece has magnets and is covered with velvet felt, which keeps the pieces stable on the board and ensures that they don't scratch the board as they slide around. This 2-in-1 chess and checkers set is sure to please you.

This chess set is definitely great value for money! The foldable chess board design is very practical, easy to carry and store. This is a great quality product, the pieces are nice to hold and of good quality! I love the design of the internal mould to hold the pieces securely! My girls aged 14 have really taken to playing drafts and currently learning the art of playing Chess!

Very satisfied with this purchase! The board and chess pieces are beautifully crafted, and the wood feels good in your hand. I bought the Paome Chess and Checkers/(Draughts) set for an eight-year old grandson's birthday later this month (June). The board is solid, well-hinged and lines up flat and with exactly-matched squares when unfolded for play. The soft storage moulds hold the pieces securely and they don't fall out when the "box" is closed.I would recommend a sheet of soft fabric or even paper on an uncovered surface to protect the playing surface from scratches while the pieces are packed and unpacked.The pieces are well magnetised and remain in place at a right angle to the playing surface. I did not try total inversion which is certainly not going to happen in use. The pieces are well made and are of a good size.All in all, I am very impressed with this product and would recommend it to prospective buyers.I will receive a partial refund for this review, but will make this clear: I have never submitted a dishonest review to Amazon or any other company. If I had any negatives to report, I would certainly make them clear. I don't write many reviews and those that I do are honest. This will not be the last of these that I shallt purchase from Amazon if they remain available.

Its a lovely quality set but not perfect. Few chipped areas and looks like paint spill. Has all the pieces and it is magnetic. I was pleased when it arrived but disappointed for the quality outlook of the board like not new but used.
