Helicoil 5334-14 Save-A-Thread Thread Repair Kit M14 x 1.25

Stripped the threads on my Stihl 661 chainsaw.Took the exhaust off, greased up the tap to help collect the swarf, tapped hole out, made sure cylinder was clear of swarf, used insert provided, gave it a chap, plug in, exhaust on and away we went.👌👌For sale - Stihl 661, GREAT condition, like new, careful owner.🙄

Nicely made, the tap worked really well, the head was still attached so we applied plenty of grease to catch as much swarf as possible, the problem we had that because the head was still attached we couldn't see how far we'd put it in, the first time we put it in too far, we discovered this by measuring the height from the spark plug to the rocker cover compared to the others, we managed to get it out and tried again, and got it perfect, but even after hammering the top to stop it winding any further it still did go further in.We ended up having to buy a different insert with a top hat and that solved our problem.If your head is off these are great, if not then I'd suggest finding one with a top hat.

Great product, saved me hundreds of pounds. Replaced stripped threads in spark plug hole with cylinder head still on. Used thick grease method as directed on YouTube. It does actually work! Product is designed to guide the cutting tap into the correct position and if you follow the YouTube instructions to the letter is idiot prove.

This tool really did do the job. I have a 2005 Mini Cooper that had blown out a spark plug. With the head still on, coating the tool with grease to catch the swarf, I cut the new thread and inserted the helicoil. So far it has worked a treat ! Highly recommended.

This is one of the best products I’ve ever used. It saved the car from the scrap heap! Cuts perfect and is incredibly sturdy.
