Great charger/tester, best in it's price range.
I really like this charger. I owned two chargers before this one which didn't offer the testing features this one does. I like being able to see how well the batteries rate compared to their original specifications. Lately, I have been harvesting the 18650's from old laptop batteries to use in my flashlights. It is nice to be able to see which batteries are in good condition and suitable for that purpose. I also track the condition of the 18650's' I use for my e-cigs. So I am not a professional and only use this charger for these limited uses, I do not build power walls or e-bike batteries. This charger offers the same features as chargers costing twice the price.I use the charger by turning it on and loading the batteries one at a time, setting the desired parameters then go on to the next battery. You can charge the batteries at 500mAh, 1000mAh, 1500mAh, or 2000mAh. If you only load 2 18650s you can set the charging current at 2000mAh, with 3 1500mAh, and with 4 1000mAh, the charger will automatically lower the charging current when you install the 3rd and 4th battery. It works similar with other size batteries depending on the type of battery. To fully test a 18650 Li-ion battery it will take about 3.5 hours, this I think is about normal for other chargers as well. A test function consists of a full charge cycle followed by a full discharge cycle and then a full charge cycle. It will display the mAh capacity of the battery and the mR internal resistance. Some will state that the test results are not precisely accurate but since I am not building a commercial power wall or e-bike battery for resale I am not going to nitpick the results. Other reviewers have stated that the battery holder clamps do not hold the batteries securely when using the smaller batteries like AA and AAA and I agree but I have two other chargers that are worse. This charger holds the 18650s very well compared to my other chargers. I can pick up the charger and move it around and not dislodge the batteries.I think this is a good charger even if it had cost twice the price. I would buy another one.

I would like to start off by saying this company and product ...
I would like to start off by saying this company and product is truly great. It's hard finding a good quality cylinder battery charger. This one how ever does most of everything very well. I say most as the ir resistance check is a hard test to do and by just inserting the battery and gettting a number can't be very accurate.I'm not sure what algorithm they are using for this but that didn't bother me.All other functions work great. It runs off 12v which is great for portability you can easlily use a cigarette adapter, *note* one isn't included.I really like that it has a discharge function. Also has a test function which provides a full charge then a discharge and finally a full charge. It also does 500mA , 1000mA, 1500mA and 2000mA. I like all the options here. Also the company is great in its self. If you have any issues don't hesitate to email them.I feel the only thing missing from this would be temperature, & wifi or bluetooth.Overall I would recommend this to anyone. Thank you!I had also purchased there 2 port version but I prefer the 4 port.

Looks like a solid choice so far
Update 2/11/19:After using the PS Power DC5000 over the last few weeks, I have a few things to add to the original review below.Ease of use is very good. The display and buttons to change settings/display are high quality and the display is easy to read. I particularly like the battery graphic that clearly shows the battery charging or discharging. Only complaint is that it is very easy to dislodge batteries (particularly if you have a C or D in the outer slots) when adding or removing adjacent batteries. Moreover, it's easy to not notice that a battery has been dislodged and is not charging if the display view is not showing that slot.My initial conclusion is that the testing performance is only "okay." I did two separate tests. The first test was with AA batteries. I tested three ~5 year old identical Powerex Imedion 2400mah rated batteries in the PS Power DC5000, Powerex MH-C9000, and a LaCrosse BC1000 ;all at 500mah charge current. I rotated the charging sequence of the three batteries so that one battery was charged first, second, and third in each charger in order to minimize the refresh effect skewing the results. The PS Power DC5000 said that the batteries had capacities of 2290, 2540, and 2400 mahThe Powerex MH-C9000 said that the batteries had capacities of 2150, 2310, and 2250 mahThe LaCrosse BC1000 said the batteries had capacities of 2090, 2210, and 2140 mahIt's not an absolute fact that the lowest rated capacity is the one to believe, but that tends to be the case from my experience. So, that would mean that the PS Power is the least accurate of the three chargers. The good news in this is that the three chargers did agree which batteries were the strongest and weakest and the difference is not really significant between the chargers. A sample size of three is not valid statistically and nothing in this particular test would lead me to think poorly of the PS Power. At worst, it just means that the PS Power is a little optimistic.Second, I put a D cell in the first slot and tested it's capacity. This particular battery is an 8500 mah rated battery. The test (using the 1000mah current setting) showed that the battery had a 5200mah capacity. I then moved the battery to the fourth slot and tested it again. On this second test, it showed a 6400mah capacity. It was not surprising that the second test was different/higher since the discharge/recharge cycle can improve capacity, but the difference is not credible as the battery would not improve that much in one discharge/charge cycle. Of the two tests, this D cell test was the most concerning. However, it does not mean that the PS Power charger is useless or that I categorically don't trust the results. It just means that you have to take the results with a grain of salt.Overall, I still really like this charger. I have focused on NIMh batteries for my comparisons, but you can't forget that it does charge other battery types and for it's price is a most versatile and useful charger. If I was traveling and in need of a charger, I'd be taking the PS Power.Original Review:I haven't had this PS Power DC5000 charger long enough to give a comprehensive review, but I do have some initial thoughts. I'll also compare it to some of the other chargers I have.First, I bought this specifically for it's ability to fully charge D cell 10000+ mah hour NiMH cells that my other chargers will not do. This is one of the cheaper alternatives to charge D cells that, per the seller, will FULLY charge them. There are even cheaper chargers that will charge NiMH D cells, but most will not charge beyond 5000 mah, so you are not getting full use from those batteries. This charger is marketed under different brands (e.g. Dlyfull on Amazon). So, this PS Power product listing is not your only source for reviews or price comparison. The charger is, of course, manufactured in China. The small manual is good enough with easily understood information, but written in the usual awkward English. When I read earlier reviews for this charger, one mentioned that when the provided 12v power supply was first plugged in, there was a small momentary sparking at the outlet. I can confirm that this is the case with mine as well. My non-expert opinion is that as long as this is a momentary spark, it is not a dangerous situation and you have likely seen it with other appliances as well (happens every time I plug in my high end laptop charger). If you have doubts, you can Google outlet sparking and make your own determination.Note that neither the charger nor the 12v power adapter carry any UL listing. There are both EU and Chinese certifications, but not UL. For me, this just means that I will not leave the charger plugged in when not in use or when I'm not at home...which is probably a good idea in any case.Functionally, it will take some time for me to know just how well this charger works, but I am impressed so far with the construction and display. The battery slots are similar to other multi size battery chargers in that a spring loaded negative terminal allows for insertion of large and small batteries. It feels kind of flimsy, but my Nitecore i2 charger has these terminals and has worked well for years. Display is clean, well thought out, and easy to read.As mentioned in the features in the Amazon listing, you can decide what among three modes (charge, discharge, and test) and what amperage (500ma to 2000ma) to apply. Some sources say that AAA Nimh batteries should be charged at no more than 200ma for maximum battery longevity, so I will probably not use the charger for these batteries.Comparing it to my LaCrosse BC1000 and Maha smart chargers, the one feature missing in the PS Power DC5000 charger is "refresh mode." The refresh mode in my LaCrosse and in Maha chargers will automatically charge, discharge, and test over and over again to until the maximum charge of the battery is reached. This is very helpful to renew old batteries. You can somewhat duplicate this with the PS Power DC500 charger by doing each mode consecutively, but it is not nearly as convenient.Comparing the display of the PS Power DC5000to my La Crosse BC1000, which is more useful is a matter of how you are using the charger at the time. The LaCrosse series (and others with the similar design) will show mode and one piece of info for all four batteries at once. To see all of the info (e.g. amperage, charge time, mah, etc.) for the set of batteries in the charger, you have to press the display button several times to cycle through the display. The PS Power charger shows all of the info for a single battery slot. You get to see the amperage, charge time, etc. all at once for a single slot. So, to see the info for all of the batteries, you have to press the display button once for each battery you want to check.Which is better? Well, in test mode, I'd probably prefer the PS Power as you get all of the info for a battery on the display at once. In regular charge mode, the La Crosse type is probably more useful since you can see the status of all four batteries at once (i.e. see when they are fully charged) without having to press any buttons. The PS Power DC5000 display is backlit where my LaCrosse is not. Finally, there is price. If you only charge AAA and AA NiMH/NiCd batteries, then the LaCrosse BC700 (in my experience) is probably the best charger to get as it includes the refresh feature and costs about the same as this PS Power DC5000. It's also a mature product that has proven reliable for years. It has all of the features of my BC1000 (with slightly lower charge amperage). However, if you need to charge C and/or D Nimh or the other specialty batteries that the PS Power does, then, so far, I'd recommend this PS Power DC5000 without reservation. It seems a solid product at a good price.Note that I did not cover the USB charging slot in the rear of the DC5000. It's a feature that is not a core function I will use, but for some it will no doubt be useful.

Awesome product for charging, discharging and testing
I got this item and I had a couple discharged NiMH batteries, so I used it right away and it performed very well. After charging them I try the test mode and the batteries go through a process of charging completely discharging completely and charging completely again. The display shows you the mode, the voltage of the battery, the capacity of the battery and the charging current. It will automatically charge your batteries at 500mA but you can maually choose between 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 mA. I am very satisfied with the product.
