Good kit. Simple wiring. Great starter kit, but feels a little cheap.
Overall, this is a great kit. It is dead simple to wire. Don't have to do any daisy chaining or extra wiring to GPIO. Just plug in all the buttons, the joystick and the USB cable into the controller boards and you're good to go. I have it installed in bartop arcade machine I built recently. The only things I don't like about it, and these are minor gripes, but the joystick and USB 4/5 pin cables were difficult to get plugged in. It felt like I was going to break the pins off. The joysticks feel a little looser in their neutral position than I would like. And the buttons are just slightly more stiff and clicky than I'd like. Both making the kit feel a little cheap. And lastly, many other hardware kits you can buy include buttons with a plastic nut that you can tighten on the backside of the hole. That would have been very useful as you can drill a slightly bigger hole and then use the nut to tighten it instead of having to drill a hole small enough to friction fit it. I used an 1 1/8" hole saw, and that was just a little too small. I had to dremel each individual hole a little bit to make it big enough. But overall, you can't beat the price, ease of use and functionality of this set! Would definitely recommend as a great starter kit.Update: Ended up adding two more buttons to my cab. I used a 30mm forstner bit and it worked much better than the hole saw. Still wish the hardware felt a little sturdier and may plan to upgrade to Sanwa/Seimitsu setup soon.

Looks awesome plays great
Spent a couple of weekends turning an Ikea table into a 2 player game controller for my Raspberry Pi. Used these buttons and joysticks for the setup. These work great and the setup was quick and easy. Have had this for about 2 weeks and had a couple of all day gaming sessions, and the controls seem to work well, playing both arcade and console games.Did have one of the joysticks that had an issue when I did the original setup, but GAMELEC was quick to respond and replaced it with 2 day shipping. Was very impressed with their service.

The quickest, easiest, and cheapest way to run retro controls on a retropie system.
This board is a common board found on the web used for converting joystick/button inputs to a usb output. First of all rather than buying the board for $3-$6, this kit is complete. It comes with the retro joystick, 8 standard buttons, 2 smaller specialty buttons (or they can be used as select/start, 1 player/2 player, etc.), all the connecting wires and usb output cable.I bought this for making a self contained retro gaming console powered by a raspberry pi. The great thing about this kit is it’s simplicity. Connect the desired configuration to the board, connect the board to the usb using the supplied cable, and configure the controller inputs. In my opinion it’s the quickest and easiest way to run retro controls on a retropie system. The board is not extremely well made but it was functional with no lag and consistent response (check yours for solder bridges). My only complaint is that the directional button contacts on the joystick are a little loud. There are no instructions for the board and many are hard to read but here is the basic layout;Upper left: this is where you attach the included usb cableUpper middle: this is where you attach the included joystick using the included 5 pin connectorUpper right: these are the inputs for a 2 pin style joystick (not included)*** The remaining 2 pin connectors are all for button connection. This is based on personal preference and desired function. You can create a simple 2 button controller, 8 button controller with player select, etc....Right side: these for connectors are for specialty buttons, top to bottom they are mode, turbo, clear, and auto.Bottom: here there are 12 connectors for 2 pin buttons*the kit comes with a total of 10 2-pin buttons which can be configured however you like in the 16 possible connector spaces. This kit is mid level quality but for a complete kit, and it’s ease of connection/configurability, at this price point it can’t be beat.

Arcage Styling
I purchased this joystick as a companion to a passel of Raspberry Pi kits I put together for a gift. I know the gifted will be working on a number of projects, some of which are mobile, and I wanted to go old school as an option for control. These are great looking kits and really bring back the look and feel of early arcade games. I got two, one in red, one in blue to tell them apart easily and because the look great. I think this will be a win in the gift box.

Work great for Retropie Build
Built an arcade table for a Retropie with these controls. No issues with wiring or installing the buttons. Definitely easy to wire and install than a LED button kit. Everything worked great right out of the package! Included pic of the table to show how the buttons and controls look after install

Great value for a raspberry pi mame
For the price, these are amazing.I built my own cabinet for a raspberry pi powered mame device. I included pictures of how it turned out.I did not under mount my joysticks, wish I had but instead I dropped them in from the top. This lead to gaps that I'll have to clean up.But the sticks and buttons are very responsive. My friends and I played the heck out of it this past week and it took a lot of abuse. Generally it's still running great, although I do have a few keys that stick slightly if jammed from an angle. I'll be monitoring this but my guests were not easy on them. They installed simply enough using a 30mm bit, and the USB controller board worked fine.

Only 1 of 2 joysticks worked. All other buttons ...
***Update*** After posting my review the following contacted me and offered to correct the issue. I'll be improving my rating for their excellent service.Only 1 of 2 joysticks worked. All other buttons functional. I wish I could just return the one malfunctioning joystick. I've already installed all other components so returning all the functioning pieces is a huge inconvenience. Joystick arrived with damaged pins. Possibly shipping companies fault. If that happens to you, return product prior to installation.I built the arcade game for my classroom, and it's holding up to student abuse :)
