Worked Great for THIS ONE Trusting Poodle
My 2 YO standard poodle had a lot of plaque build-up, so the vet recommended a cleaning. As with all the dogs I’ve owned, I was concerned about having her put under anesthesia for such a simple procedure and the cost to do it.Luckily, before breaking down and making an appointment, I saw a recommendation for a dental cleaning kit on a holistic dog care Facebook page.I groom my own dogs and this girl is very calm and obedient when letting me around her mouth to brush her teeth and is also used to the sound and feel of a nail grinder, clippers and high velocity dryer. I happen to have a manual dental tool. As a test, she let me scrape on a tooth with it. I really don’t know how to clean teeth and was afraid of cutting her gums or damaging her teeth so so went no further than that. But since she let me go that far, I figured a kit with all the proper attachments and an auto shut off was needed. I ordered this product based on features, reviews and price.I showed her the tool, turned it on, let her see the light from it and hear the sound it makes by touching it to the little wrench that comes with the kit. It only turns on when it is in contact with a hard surface. I then turned it off and touched the end to her gum line and tapped her teeth with it. After no reaction from her, I turned it on “soft “ and when she didn’t even flinch, I got to work. We started out with her standing on the grooming table, but eventually moved her to a bed where she could lay on her side. She would not lay on the grooming table and I was not going yo force her. I worked 5 to 10 minutes at a time over several days. I was able to move up to the normal setting and a little stronger for the big patches. The plaque sometimes broke off in little sheets. I brush her teeth several times a week, so was amazed that the plaque was so thick and how white and shiny her teeth were underneath. It’s awkward trying to work on the back teeth, one hand is needed to pull the lips back to expose the tooth, the other hand to hold the tool in the right position to shine the light on the tooth and also to keep it at the right angle for it to be most effective. She would naturally bring her foot up which would block my view. I found that it worked best when she was positioned where the top of the tooth was closest to me. So when working on top teeth, her back was facing me. When working on bottom teeth, her legs were facing me. Just be gentle and calm. Light touches moving back and forth or up and down will break up the plaque. Of course, every good dog parent is sweet and gentle with their pets. So, naturally don’t react to the noise or their reactions or force the dog to stay still or do anything that will cause the dog to try to get away or break their trust in you. It seems counterproductive when cleaning teeth, but give treats if food motivated. I need to check YouTube for videos to get more pointers on how to use all the attachments. I was most successful with the pointed pick and beveled flat.Don’t get me wrong, she did not like what was happening. She’s just a good dog that aims to please and hear “good girl”, trusts me and lives for the liver treats at the end. Truthfully, she is a little wary of me right now when I tell her to get on the grooming table. She goes, but I will have to make sure to not bring out the dental kit for a lot of months to rebuild that trust. This will not work for every dog. My daughter’s laid back doodle, whom I also groom, would have nothing to do with it. I think this was partly due to my daughter freaking out over the sound and the dog reacting to that.I haven’t tried it on my other poodle yet because she just had a vet cleaning while under anesthesia for another surgical procedure. I predict she will not let me near her with it. A calming chew first may be in order some other time. I’ve never tried those though.Even if it takes a minute every day for a month to get to all the teeth— there is no anesthesia, no stressful vet visit, not to mention the savings. For 30 bucks vs 400, I call this a big win.

Great Tool.
It works great. I used this on both of my 6 year old cats. Two people needed. Cat Wrapped in a towel. It took 5 mins to do both sides per cat, even with the squirming. I was surprised that it didn't stress them out much, without the use of any calming meds. My cats trust me I guess. Cats acted normal afterwards, even asked for treats to which I gave a tasty dental paste. May not be as easy for others. Great tool. Saved me from a $700 dental cleaning vet bill.

Miracle tool to remove tarter build up.
Worth every penny! And considering how much I was being quoted by my vet ($1200), for a tooth cleaning, it really was worth Pennies on the dollar to clean my dogs teeth.

The high frequency sound makes it unusable
This product looked somewhat promising with the reviews. It looks and feels like a quality item. When I turned it on my dog immediately shivered in fear and wanted to run away and was unmanageable in a way she doesn’t normally behave. The device appears silent to humans but the high pitch frequency was very alarming to my dog. The instruction booklet suggests getting several people to hold down the animal while using it. This is not realistic in my opinion. Also if you manage to get your dog to let you touch the device to their teeth it sounds like a dentist drill. So needless to say your success is going to be highly dependent on your animal. I brush my dog’s teeth every morning so she is accustomed to me putting a tooth brush in her mouth. She is a small doodle (8 lbs). It felt very dangerous trying to use this tool because how afraid she was of the sound. The device comes with a set of dental picks which I sort of found humorous. I have a feeling many customers will never use those ever. Might be useful around the house in some way. The instructions are written in strange English. The tone and word choice of the text doesn’t give you confidence in what you are reading. I might try again but I have low expectations. Just ask yourself, would your dog let you use a sharp dentist drill on its tooth and be calm? Would you be calm? How do they react to a dog whistle? My dog’s Buddha skills just aren’t at that level and I don’t want to hurt her.

bueno
Parece muy buen producto pero lamentablemente mis mascotas le tenen panico al sonido, tendre que con paciencia acostumbrarlos. La limpieza no es facil realizarla uno solo, debe hacerse con ayuda para evitar que se muevan y lastimen.

Best tartar buster for a perfect doggie smile
My 9 year old dog had really bad plaque build up. I paid for a professional cleaning but the vet said she needed another. I really couldn’t afford to bring her for another cleaning. I bought all kinds of teeth cleaners. This tops them all. At first my dog wasn’t too sure about the tool, so I did short sessions and worked on her front teeth. Each time, I finish with a quick brush with tooth gel. After a few tries she just lays on on lap and lets me work on her teeth. It blasts away the plaque. I use the hook shaped scraper to get the smaller bits away from her gums. We just went back to the vet and he was amazed. He said her gingivitis was gone and her teeth looked great. I do have to say I read a lot of reviews. Go easy and go back and forth between the ultra sonic and the manual scrapper. I do stop once the gums start to bleed. After 2 weeks working around her mouth, I got all her teeth and they looked great. Now I will just use it for maintenance and try to not let them get so built up. I wish I took before and after pictures. There were large chunks of plaque falling off her teeth that I was able to just scrape away and put on a paper towel. Her gums hardly bleed now when I brush her teeth. I still use the fresh breath tooth gel. Oh and her breath is so much better too. My dog is not a chewer, so I will have to check weekly to keep her teeth from build up. This was a great purchase. It charges pretty quickly. I saved my dogs teeth and big $$$ on a vet cleaning!!!!
