Excellent receiver for those who want to listen to Dolby Atmos on a budget and with high quality
The media could not be loaded. The first emotions when I received this receiver: How huge and heavy it is. After I connected it temporarily to my old speakers from the old receiver, and decided to listen to Dolby Atmos music from Apple Music and I was very delighted! My speakers from 2008 from budget LG acoustics began to sound much cleaner, and the Dolby Atmos sound amazed me. I really liked the way the receiver distributes the sound to all the speakers, each speaker has a separate signal, which gives the sound that you are on stage and the artist is standing in front of you and singing. I also can't help but mention games and movies. The sound is divine both there and here. In the game Until Dawn, for example, the sound gave even more atmosphere so much that I did not go into this game without the speakers turned on. When watching movies, the sound is as if you are in a movie theater. But there are also disadvantages. The first is that in many cases the receiver cannot determine the input codec. Sometimes the Dolby signal is received as stereo or vice versa, but this is only with the phone, with the computer everything is fine. The 2nd is the volume via Bluetooth. It is very quiet and there are no codecs for HiRes. And so, basically I did not notice any other disadvantages. I ordered Polk XT15 speakers for this receiver and I think that it will turn out to be an excellent audio system for this budget. The quality of the receiver itself is excellent, no complaints about it. It has enough power and the installation and setup are very simple, I figured it out the first time. I did not check the image quality, since my receiver is connected to a monitor, and I do not display an image from it. If anything, is it normal that when outputting from an iPhone, the sound is in Dolby Atmos format, the Dolby Surround mode is turned on on the receiver

Good cheap AVR
Just what I needed. Lighting finally hit my Onkyo TN-SR795 from the early 2000s. Needed something reasonably priced as a replacement. Using with 2.1 setup for my living room TV. Great so far for the first month. I really don't miss the power that I had on the old unit. Plenty loud and clear for my great room. Atmos on some apps is really nice too. I'm still on a 1080p OLED and pass thru works great.

Excellent entry level receiver, with some caveats one should be aware of.
It's an excellent entry-level receiver. The good: it's easy to set up, nice sound. Good, simple remote. Very useful info button displays input & output audio format. Other useful modes: quick adjust, vocal enhancement, night mode.8K HDMI Video switching with no hiccups. Solid binding posts for all the speakers. (A rarity at this price point). Surprisingly attractive & hefty unit for the price. Overall, a terrific value for the money, provided one is not after an effective EQ & room correction tuning. Unbeatable amplification and processing at this price point—$250. (Sometimes it goes on sale for $200!!) The bad: It is not possible to adjust each channel's level individually post calibration, only the front speakers & the subwoofer. Otherwise, you are forced to run the calibration routine all over again.AccuEQ was ineffective for my dorm room, it kept choosing the wrong crossover frequencies. It consistently picked 70 Hz for the fronts/center/rear channels. These Klipsch speakers roll over -3db at 110 Hz and were not included in the pre-set cross-over modes available. I had to perform a 100% manual calibration on my Klipsch 5.1 Reference HT using an SPL meter + DVD Audio test tones (All channels frequency sweep 15–20 kHz, bass management 15Hz to 150 Hz) to dial in a proper blend between the subwoofer & the satellites. The Odyssey EQ calibration on Onkyo's past receivers was far superior.

Easy to use and setup
This replaced my Harmon Kardon AV125 from 2002. Very easy to use and optimize sound from my original 5.1 speaker set up. Only thing wrong was that it came without a remote. This was a discounted return item. I then ordered a remote and it arrived on my door step as an open empty shipping pouch. Amazon was quick to get a replacement reordered. This Onkyo AVR is a true value for its up to date technology. Atmos sounds so amazing.

Once again, Onkyo delivers best bang for the buck
This is my third Onkyo AV receiver. I bought my first before the days of HDMI. The one that followed was replaced by this one only because I need HDMI 2.1 support.Reliability has been incredible over the years and I expect this one to be obsolete before it dies like its predecessors. Then of course, the quality of the amplifier and the other associated circuitry. The auto set up feature does a great job of setting speaker volumes appropriately. I’ve never used such a system, but they are generally found on receivers costing 2 to 3 times the price. While the wattage claims may be somewhat exaggerated, it has more than enough power for a typical large family room. I was able to score mine in a flash sale for $199. Even at $250 the price performance blows away pretty much everything out there. Grab one while you can.

OK for the price point.
Needed an AVR replacement for a "mid range" media room and needed a quick delivery. The unit is basic, set up is fine, but the performance is meh. It connects quickly, Bluetooth works fine. For our speakers however, it require most of the amps capability running near full volume.
