I just moved into this brand new apartment sight unseen, and was so jazzed to see it has a kitchen island. These chairs fit the bill. They're easy to assemble and sturdy. My hips are 44" around, I sat here yesterday for lunch while watching a movie and it was pretty comfortable. I don't think I could sit there for hours though because the seat is hard.I got them at the used price of $36, and all the pieces were there and it looked like it had never been unpacked.My suggestion is to measure your island or bar before buying and choose accordingly.

So! It is a darn good score! Two months is all one has lasted so far and I am not sitting on the second one to keep it as a table or for guests of lessor weight. I believe these were rated for more lbs. than my weight but if not by much, then normal sitting and standing puts extra force and then weight too upon it and it will quickly break down like one of mine has. It is so near going to fail on me and twice now I haven't got a merchant to even send another I am ordering. ugh Charlie Brown!

It was easy to assemble, it was inexpensive and as described. They will not be in architectural digest but they served my purpose for buying them.

They look fine, the color matches what is pictured, and assembly is simple enough. But the construction, in the form of methods and materials used, is less than ideal. After assembly my 5 year old sat in it for its first time and under her 48lbs 2 of the welds holding the foot rest/horizontal stability bars broke, causing 2 of the legs to bend outward and for the stool to topple to the ground. All within the first 2 minutes of use. Lower prices usually mean lower quality but I did expect it last at least an equal length of time to a normal family weeknight dinner.

You do need to fully assemble these, but it was fairly easy, and they are very attractive. They are fairly lightweight, but sturdy enough to sit on.
