It fits my miniature poodle just right!!!
I do dog training and trialing with my miniature poodle, and I pick my collars carefully. I like using a nice slip collar for training and while in the show ring. The problem was finding one to fit my little guy. Very hard to fine one that fits his 10.5 inch neck. I will only use the snake style chain because it is classy and doesn't tangle in the dog's coat. This 12" collar fits just right, both going on and off and while he is wearing it. The diameter is also a nice size for a little dog. I'm so pleased . . . finally!

Just another frustrating example of chain collar manufacturers...
My biggest problem with this item is the inaccurate labeling. Beyond that, I am unimpressed with the quality but it doesn't seem to be complete junk and would probably be fine for a smaller dog. I purchased this as a show collar for a Great Dane and simply would not trust it to hold up to anything beyond a light tug.I ordered the 22" length, which measured 22" flat including the rings. The tag is labeled as 22 inch x 4 mm, but the chain is NOT 4 mm thick. I don't have calipers at home, but I've included a picture of the chain on a tape measure for reference. To the best of my ability with tools on hand, the collar I received is a hair under 3 mm thick. A millimeter in this instance makes a pretty big difference! Although it's not solid, the cross-sectional area for a 3 mm chain is just over half that of a 4 mm chain (7 sq mm vs 12.5 sq mm). I have no clue what parameters various manufacturers of snake chains are using to label a product size, and I'm more frustrated now than ever with trying to find something! For regular-style chain slip collars, the thickness is a measurement of the metal's thickness/gauge (not the width of a whole link), but I'm unable to find anything of this chain that measures 4 mm. It is indeed extra-fine though. I'm including a photo of the snake chain next to a 1.8 mm flat link style chain that I purchased at show for reference.I do like that the end rings are small, but the welds aren't very clean looking. I'm not keeping this collar.

Tag collar for long haired dog
My dog isn't a show dog, but I bought this to use as a thin tag collar. He's a Border Collie and normal collars sit awkward on his hair and leave indents. I was looking at simple rope collars, but this seemed like a better deal. I put this on as a choke chain, but then clip the two ends together with his tag clip so that he won't accidentally get caught on something and choke himself. It looks really sharp this way and is perfect for what I wanted. The tags unclip easily if I need to put him on a leash. I really like the snake chain over the traditional choke chain. Much thinner, looks nicer, and seems to release smoother. Its basically doggy bling! A 15" would have been perfect for him, but they don't make that size so I went with the 16" and it still fits good without being too loose. Ive used this at the beach a few times and so far it's held up really well with no signs of rust or tarnish.

Provide great control without ruining dog's coat
My dogs are large and strong and I walk three at a time so I need to have control. These collars slide smoothly so they don't stay tight, they release right away. Because they are thin they get the dogs attention, but they don't damage their coats. I use these collars every day and when I take them off you can't tell the dogs ever had a collar on. My dogs all have long bright white fur on their necks and have experienced discoloration from other collars but not from these. As with any choke style collar I do not allow my dogs to run loose or play wearing these for safety reasons. I highly recommend the Guardian Gear Chrome Snake Dog Chains for obedience work. They are a quality collar, look great, and get the job done. They are also strong. You can provide a sharp correction to a large dog with no fear of the collar failing.

Nice show collar, works for big dogs too
I got this specifically as a "show" collar for a very large and heavy (~120lbs) dog. I got the 24" size and it did just fit over his head. I was initially concerned about whether the chain would hold if I really needed to restrain him, since the link size is very delicate-looking. I had no issues using this at all, and it held even when I had to pull him away from another dog. For the show ring, it disappears completely since my dog has a ruff of neck fur. Nice!

Great just for show
I purchased this item for my 50 pound Cane Corso puppy that is not a show dog (pictures will be uploaded). I wanted something that was more delicate looking than the regular choke chains. It is very thin and delicate. It shines very bright in the sunlight like jewelry. I knew that it wouldn't work well like a regular choke chain so I never tried walking her on it. My Sis in law left her on a tie-out hooked to the snake chain and it snapped while she was playing with another dog. The link broke where it was attached to the ring. The choke chain has no function for us but to look good. I am repurchasing this for myself and my brother that has two larger Cane Corso puppies is also ordering this product now.

Great extra fine choke chain.
This is really nice for dogs that have been already trained and only a little encouragement is needed occasionally. It is plenty strong when you need it to be too. It's chain design looks so much nicer than the traditional choke chain design and it weighs a lot less, so it is easier on you dog. It is also very good at staying up on the neck behind the ears where a choke chain does the most good. the regular chains are heavy and continually slide down the neck. It is also nice enough to use in the show ring.

Poor quality
I was extremely disappointed with this collar. The sizing was incorrect and wouldn't even go over my dog's head. The quality was very poor. The chain did not slide as it should. Returned the collars.

Don’t buy, it’s basically unusable
Useless. Both loops on this choker are the same size making it impossible to thread one through the other. Returning this straight away.

Good value
So far so good. My dog looks cute with his chain and he is a boxer. Runs a bit big for him.

GREAT FOR SHOWING.
Remember these chokers are not for general walking but for the show ring.
