I have used several dashcams but the Vantrue S1 Pro 2.7K Dual Dash Cam is near the top of the list. The device was really easy to set up and use right out of the box. I got this as a secondary device to my vehicle and couldn’t be more impressed with the different attributes of the device. The video quality is really great and comes with clear instructions on how to use it.The sticky tape that adheres to the windshield keeps the camera firmly attached to the inside of the windshield and the connection to the two different cameras couldn’t be simpler. Installation took less than 10 minutesThe screen is easy to navigate through the different menu options, and basic functions are seamless. I’m impressed with the different features of the cam, both for front and rear viewability, using the night vision, optional remote live view, and GPS. It also works very well during the day in bright sunlight. I appreciate the clear video and picture quality, as well as the ease in which I can access the stored data from my phone or a mini SD card.The Vantrue S1 Pro 2.7K Dual Dash Cam is outstanding and the whole unit works exactly as described. I will probably buy another as a gift!

In 2021 I purchased two Vantrue S1 4K Dash Cams Front and Rear, 1080P Dual GPS Dash Cameras for my two cars. Both of the camera sets are reliable and have worked very well. The videos are clear and very useable. I had the cameras hard wired into each car. The cameras have provided excellent documentation of two near misses involving 18 wheelers while on long cross country trips that would have been invaluable had there been an accident. The S1 is a very good value.I have since purchased (2024) the newer version of the S1, the Vantrue S1 Pro 2.7K Front and Rear 5G WiFi Dual Dash Camera. The S1 Pro has the same high quality video recording. The newer camera offers several upgrades and improvements over the S1, but at a higher price. The S1 Pro cameras are more compact. The front camera is slightly smaller than the S1and the rear camera is quite a bit smaller. The S1 required removal from its windshield mount since it was mounted behind the rear view mirror and to be unplugged from both its power supply and the connection to the rear camera and then plugged into a power supply to reset any changes made from its menus,. The new S1 Pro can now be controlled from The Vantrue Phone App on your phone or by voice control making it much easier to use and the changes can be made with the camera mounted. The menus built into the camera are somewhat confusing to use, but the initial set up and making changes from the app are very clear and straight forward. The S1 Pro also provides for a larger memory card 512gb vs 256gb. The GPS seems to be more accurate on the S1 Pro as well. The Vantrue phone app provides other features, such as a map of your route and downloading the videos to your phone, that would not otherwise be available.In addition to using the cameras as dash cams, I have also used them in our boat to record views from our boat and when I Autocross a classic sports car. When viewed on my computer, the picture quality is excellent. When using the cameras in these ways I use extra windshield mounts and a regular power cable.Vantrue has provided excellent customer support and service.UpdateAfter several months of use the camera is operating as expected providing clear videos. The phone app allows for easy operations and the several features that allow easy review of the videos as well as mapping of routes recording. Overall the camera continues to meet all of my expectations.

The S1 Pro is my second dash cam from Vantrue, after previously using the E2 in my first car. Both dash cams have consistently delivered excellent video quality, capturing clear details in various lighting conditions.What stands out with the S1 Pro is the night vision feature. The dash cam provides clear and sharp footage even during nighttime, which gives me peace of mind when driving in low-light conditions.I’ve connected the dash cam to an OBD cable, enabling 24/7 recording in parking mode, which is perfect for added security when the car is parked.Another highlight is the user-friendly mobile app. The app makes it super convenient to download, edit, and share videos on the go without needing a computer.Overall, I highly recommend the S1 Pro dash cam for anyone looking for reliable performance, great video quality, and an intuitive app experience!

Great for the price! Not top of the line, but good basic protection for this price point in 2024.Good accessories for this product depending on your vehicle:OBD2 to USB-C power connector with voltage cutoff: Fuse Panel to USB-C power connector with voltage cutoff: Example Solar Charger to lessen battery losses: PROS:- easy to install- good cords for most vehicles- options to tie into your OBD2 connection or your fuse box for parking mode- Sony Starvis 2 sensor (good definition and clarity even at night)- Can be fitted with polarizing filters and ND filters for better clarity and glare reduction- Mounting adjustment and viewing angle adjustment- GPS assisted recordingsCONS:- lower resolution than 4k- awkward mobile phone app- you should change the default wireless password! Not obvious in the UI. Try using the mobile app and the UI on the device.- G-sensor is very sensitive and will alert at very slight knocks even with sensitivity all the way down- if you have a small 12V battery, like in a hybrid, it may run your battery down with parking mode engaged.The resolution isn't 4k which you may or may not need. If you have the money, go get a higher resolution model with the Starvis series sensor. Great night vision. However this is a more budget option that still retains much of the high qualities, just lower resolution.
