Q: What length does the 3-6 month size accommodate? My son is 5 months and 17 lbs but he’s 28” long so he’s wearing 9-month and even 12-month clothes.

From shoulder to end of the garment, the 3-6 month size is 27 inches long. So, you'd want to check if 27 inches from his shoulder to feet would be enough room, if so, he should be good.

You can use the Transitional Swaddle Sack to wean your baby from a snug classic swaddle by starting with both mitten cuffs closed. Next open one cuff. Baby can suck on hand to self soothe. When baby sleeps well with one cuff open, you can open both cuffs and the sleeves with become elbow length. With both cuffs open and sleeves at elbows, there is no suppression of the startle reflex. When baby sleeps well like this you know they are ready to sleep well in a loose fitting sleeping sack. The Transitional Swaddle Sack bridges the gap between snug classic swaddling and loose fitting sleeping sack.
