I made these using the Mandarin chess mould set. I'm a 74 year old woman and found it quite easy to make with the stonecast plaster. I dipped the moulds in wet water ie. put a little washing up liquid in a pan of water and rinse inside of moulds with it emptying them carefully. When finished I painted them with acrylic paint and put a touch of gold powder on some risen parts then varnished them with a spray-on varnish. Delighted with the results! I had never done anything like this before! It took some time to make the whole set as you only get one each of bishop etc but I think it was worth it. Very pleased!

Great detail, though instructions on how to mould could be better, found a site on YouTube and it explained better and in more detail, have started casting and as first stated great detail, very impressed and for me ideal for my chess table as I had to get the 2inch tiles when I got the king LouisXVI set as they were too big for the table though also very detailed, would recommend these moulds anytime, arrived on time even during the Christmas rush so 5 stars

These are a lovely chess set with great detail. Unfortunatelly I’ve had trouble getting the queen, king and rook out of the mounds, because the necks are too thin and snap off at the final hurdle. I’ve got maybe one out of four hgood ones. I’ve soaked them in water, and I know full well they’ll snap as I peel off the last bit of the mound. I’ve had moulds in the past, and had no trouble!!
