Will the sensor work well through the walls of an upright freezer to monitor temperature of the freezer?

Govee Team's answer is generally correct. That said, I've been using a Govee H5074 for two months this to monitor the temperature of a small refrigerator in my car (typically set to 34° F/1° C), and it has worked very well despite having to transmit through the metal refrigerator case and the steel car body. I routinely check it from 10-20 feet away; I haven't tried any further away than that. Now, maybe I'll have to swap batteries every six months. But this little device works so well (thanks in large part to Govee's well-designed iOS app) that I'll cheerfully pay that price if I have to. They do make a more robust weatherproof model, H5041, but it costs more than twice as much and uses a plug-in (120/240 VAC) Wi-Fi router. As an RVer, I try to avoid anything that can't run on 12 VDC. But the H5074 doesn't even need that--it's self-contained, and only needs a smartphone or tablet. It suits my needs perfectly.

Is it possible to connect more than one app/phone to a single device?

I have the app on three different Android devices. When one phone is connected to the sensor, other phones do not show the Bluetooth indicator to the left of the battery indicator and do not show the current temp. When I leave the first connection alone, the sensor gets disconnected eventually, and other phones can access the sonsor. It takes me about 20 seconds to access the current temperature and about 30 seconds further to load one day worth of data.

Can I create custom alerts for temperature variation? For example: notification every time there is a 10ºC variation during the day.
