Arabesque Zoudge Vol. 2

Just as good as the first one!
Overall this is probably funkier than volume one, keeping a groove going beautifully all the way through. There's a good mix of "western" Arabic music (Natasha Atlas) with more traditional music but they work superbly together. A very evocative and successful compilation.

One For trying, one for the pakaging!
One wonders sometimes. Do I wait and do something good? or, let's just put something together and make some quick money! I am sure Mr Murad "momo" as he likes to be called didn't ask himself this question. This CD might sound alright to someone who does not know much about eastern music. Most of the tracks resemble each other...The Khaled track "liberte" was a nice touch though, it is a very rare track!I certainly couldn't picture anyone dancing to most of the tracks. Maybe the "1,2,3 Soleil" might do. These Arabesque compilations have lost their sparkle when Francis Peyrat stoped compiling! Other than that, if you want to buy this CD do not expect much...I would not recommend the Third one either!!!

Funky Arab
Great selection on this compliation with no weak tracks and a good mixture between funked up (very dancable) tracks and more traditional excecutions - all done with style.
