Berkley Lightning Rod Spinning Combo

I just ordered 4 of these rods for my kids to use on the Kayaks. Didn't want them to drop my expensive ones overboard but wouldn't fret much if they dropped a $60 rig. They arrived today and I have to say that I'm amazed by my first impression of them. They are well crafted with good fit and finish. I ordered the medium-light models and they are pretty true in action with what I'd call 'fast action" tips. I can't speak to performance yet, but have no reason to believe they won't perform as well as they look.

This is a great rig. The balance of the rod is great, it's also feather light. The reel is nice and smooth, easy to adjust, and can be used with left or right hand retrieve. I would highly recommend this if you're needing a new spinning rig (or if you don't, get it anyway, before more people buy these up). If you're a beginner the price is right and you won't need to buy another rig for quite some time. This purchase has exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be happier with it.

Would be a great set up, BUT the rod came without the last guide at the tip (not broken, just missing). After reading some of the reviews, this looks to be a VERY common occurrence. Just wondering if these are factory rejects now seeing the same issues others are having. Return in process.

Absolutely love the rod and reel , I bought the 7 foot light action trout rod and reel combo and use it for crappie and bluegill, it works great for that. The reel is ultra smooth and the rod is super sensitive, would definitely recommend.

two piece fishing rod - only received one part of rod in package. eyelets were bent on the piece that we did receive. reel looked used. returning. will not but again. very disappointment. was a gift for my husband.

Aside the fact that it came in a bot 4 times to large and was not in my opinion sturdy enough to protect the product. The Rod & Reel came in tact with no damage and i took it out to the lake the next day and it worked like a charm. Had no issues using it and was even able to land some red fish and channel catfish with it

All other combos I have ordered in the past come with line. Cheap way of doing business. Spend the extra couple bucks and have line on the rod.

So far it's just what I was looking for. Perfect for trout and panfish.

I haven't used it yet, but it looks like it's a really good quality combo.

I have used this rod very little this year maybe 10 times and it broke. I really like this rod so I have or ordered another one. I hope I just got a bad one the first time. If the new one breaks I will be returning them both.Gary

Been fishing for years and I've never broken a rod. This rod broke within the 1st hour of use.

Nice rod to use
