Beware! this product does reduce pH. BUT its use results in an enormous rise in phosphate level (to over 300 ppm in my case) which is impossible to remove except by a complete water change,and is 3,000 times the recommended level for a planted tank.This is not made clear on the pack.

El producto funciona correctamente. Tengo un acuario de "engorde" con 9 discos juveniles. Me ayuda a estabilizar el pH del agua con bastante precisión sobre el 6,8.Lo único que me parece que deberían de mejorar en toda la gama Discus Buffer y los productos Regulator es indicar en ROJO que NUNCA deben de ser usados en acuarios plantados. Cometí ese error para luego leer con más atención la letra pequeña del bote. Es un búfer basado en fosfatos, y vas a tener la fiesta del alga si lo pones en un acuario con iluminación.

Bought this for the Puritan I bought
Only bought this for when I regenerate the purigen I bought to bring the ph back in line after the bleach baths. Since it is a discus ph buffer it should work very well in neutralizing the purigen to reuse.

SeaChem's Discus Buffer is the most reliable pH lowering buffer I have found.
I started keeping Discus fish twenty-something years ago. At the time I was living in Miami and had the good fortune to find a great fish store called Some Things Fishy. These guys were all about fish, freshwater, and Marine. They helped me get started in the hobby and recommended SeaChem products. I have used them all these years with great results. SeaChem's Discus Buffer is the most reliable pH lowering buffer I have found! Great in planted tanks.
