Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is a plant native to West Africa best known for its use as an infusion. It is used to brew hibiscus tea which has a tart, cranberry-like flavor and is traditionally used as a medicine. Research suggest that drinking hibiscus tea may lower blood pressure and help maintain cholesterol levels. Hibiscus is also a great source of vitamin C, minerals and organic acids.
Brewing Tip: Use 2 teaspoons per cup of water, steep for a couple of minutes and strain before drinking.
