Dropped connection; unstable GPS after a few months
This seems to work well for a few months. After that, if you rely on GPS, you will be very disappointed. I have now purchased 2 Ottocast wireless CarPlay adapters in 2 years. Both stop workin well after a few months and get stuck on the connection screen every few times you turn on your car. Both have the same majorly frustrating issue with GPS: every few times you use it, and often partway through a drive, the GPS goes out and it can't locate you, even though your phone's app is working just fine. There is some kind of latency that causes it to freeze or re-route when using this adaptor, making you miss turns, go the wrong way, etc. When you plug the phone directly into the wired carplay hub, it works fine, but this adaptor does not. I have given up on OttoCast and bought aZYW High Tech Wireless CarPlay Adapter which had great reviews and no warnings about latency or dropped connections. Read the reviews, skip OttoCast.

great after sales service experience!
UPDATE: after a few months, once the Amazon return window had expired, this device stopped working. I tried to unplug and plug back in, forgetting the device on my Bluetooth settings, soft reset, with little to no luck. I let the device cool off for a few days and tried again. nothing.THEN — I reached out to the Vendor’s Customer Support, provided by Amy and their wonderful team at OTTOCAST.From start to finish, the email communication was thorough and detailed, having me troubleshooting using various methods, including updating the firmware of the device using a compatible computer. The proper questions were posed to me as a customer to give me the best chance of getting the failed device working. However, even after the Firmware updates, although it came with a nice new splash screen, the unit did not work as it did before. At this point, I was disappointed because I was unsure of next steps. Here, Amy and team offered to cover return shipping costs up to $10, also send me a brand new device, understanding that such a malfunction could be an anomaly.I have my new device and I have not tested it yet, but I recommend giving this product a try just for the great potential after-sale Customer Support!=================ORIGINAL CONTENT: the audio comes through with the expected lag of a Bluetooth connection, but pairing and connection with CarPlay module in auto is seamless and sometimes you don’t even see the device splash screen and the iOS interface opens directly. great product!

Good product. A few adjustments would perfect it.
Works well. Design is good and connectivity is fast. I wish there were pass thru charging on a cable for those long road trips and a way to choose which iPhone is connected more easily in the case there are multiple iPhones in the car. Call quality has been fine. Have used this now for months with no durability issues so far.

Instructions...
This is easy to install, but there needs to be more instructions as it does not work exactly like the "one size instructions fits all". Not sure just how this gadget works, but my phone says the wifi for it is not on, my phone says the Bluetooth for this app is not on, and yet I get audio and the screen. Then I turn the car off, get back in and then it takes 10 minutes to load, but now I have arrived where I need to be and turn the car off. It is a hit and a miss and irritating! Wish I would have listened to the reviews saying this is not worth it.

Works as described
OTTOCAST U2Air Pro Wireless CarPlay Adapter for iPhone 02/20/24:I connected the OttoCast to my Impala with some extra unexpected work. After six driving cycles, it is still connected. My goal is for it to remain reliable for a week. I will update this review to reflect my experiences next week. At this point, the device is working as designed. It has worked much better than others I have tried. Stay tuned. I hope to give it 5 stars if it passes all my tests.02/26/24:It's been a full week of uninterrupted service. I'm unsure as to why this particular unit works and the previous 3 haven't. The only issue that I must make others aware of is that the installation directions are incomplete or clear. With my Malibu, I had to manually add the device and pair it in the car settings menu. If you are confident of figuring out the missing pieces you will be fine. For novice or older customers, you likely will need help. With all this being said and from a usage standpoint I can comfortably give this device a 5-star rating.03/01/24: Note the third photo, there is an X indicated next to the device. This is a indicator that it is the active CarPlay Device.

Limited, not what I anticipated
No video, no different than iPhone CarPlay capabilities. It eventually is recognized as another source but It does not mirror what is displayed on phone. Goes to Otto screen, that’s it. No instructions to troubleshoot. This was for a 2023 Tundra. Long road trip, wasted money.

It works for my Acura RDX
Installed in a 2020 Acura RDX and it works as hoped. I was nervous after reading mixed reviews on first gen products, but I am happy with this new version. It was also hard to find details of whether this device works with Acura and specifically my car with its unique touchpad, so I took the risk and it does work. Scrolling and swiping works about as well as wired did. It isn't the fastest system on Acura's side, but a slow steady hand works well. There is a delay when switching songs. It seems to respond right away on the screen, but there is a few second pause before the song starts playing. This is true whether you change the song using the screen, steering wheel control, or the phone itself. The instructions say to have your phone forget the bluetooth connection with the car (Note: leave bluetooth on just unpair with the car). I ignored this at first and there were issues with CarPlay failing to load until I disconnected and reconnected the USB cable. Once I unpaired bluetooth, it has connected flawlessly on a few dozen drives without issue. I have the high end sound system and I noticed a drop in music quality with bluetooth. The music sounds great through wireless CarPlay and the ottocast. I was on the fence and am really happy I gave this device a try.
