Work Over All
While these seem good quality, I do wish they were easier to put on. The way they latch over a belt is kind of neat (though they require a belt), but where they clip over your boots is difficult to adjust.

GREAT PRODUCT FOR SNAKE PROTECTION
I ordered this product and was very happy with my chaps. The order was not complete and I contacted the seller and right away they wrote back and since have straightened out my order I am very happy with the quality of the product and the customer service. I will be making more purchases from this seller in the very near future

Great Snake Chaps
Material is what you would expect for the protection you are needing. Of course I haven't tested these on live snakes though. Easy to fit and the construction seems very good. If you need snake chaps these should do the trick.

Definitely we'll made
Snake Guard Chaps for HuntingThese chaps fit well, and really feel like they'd be protective around the ankle and shin area. I feel they could overlap more neatly in the back, but it's ok. They are very very well made and look great. I actually intend to take the boning out and use them for brush chaps.

Falls Slightly Short
On first impression these gaiters seem to have a lot going for them. They definitely seem thick enough. I love that they have two straps that can be placed around my belt at my waist area, so I don’t have to worry about them falling down. When I started testing these gaiters thoroughly, my initial first impression became tainted. Where I live, hunt, and play there are some big males. Not necessarily being obese, they are just muscular from outside work. I am not sure these gaiters are going to be comfortable on those men. I have average size calves, and when I wore my waterproof boots under the gaiters, it was all I could do to get them snapped, and have much room to move around comfortably. If there is one thing that I do not want in this world in a “one size fits all” it is something that protects me from a copperhead bite. So just be aware that if you wear over the calf boots under them, and have large calves, there may not be a lot of room in these gaiters for your calves. The buckles may not even close. Which brings me to my next problem. If you do decide to wear a hiking boot that ends at the ankle, to avoid the over the calf boot, then you will not have adequate coverage to prevent an ankle bite. There will be open areas around the hiking boot at the ankle area. I am 5’11, and had no coverage at my ankle areas in certain spots with my hiking boots on. Unlike other gaiters that I have owned, that are longer, and have a buckle that go underneath the boot to hold them in place, these do not have that.I have attached several photos of my sturdy boots with these gaiters, and with a high priced brand name hiking boot with these gaiters, that will illustrate where the coverage ends.Still, I have to give them four stars because they are lightweight, and seem breathable. They are made of sturdy material where they do cover the extremities. These would be adequate for bushwhacking, brambles, briars, weed eating, and cutting firewood. The number one thing that I used them for is paintball. It is always hard to find adequate paintball protection on my legs. Plus, these camouflage ones blended in to my surroundings in the woods well, and made it hard for me to be seen while playing paintball. Overall, the gaiters have a lot going for them, but the design is lacking somewhat, and for 59.99 I would expect more coverage in important areas.

Good polypropylene protection in the lower leg area
This is a pretty nice set of snake and brush guard chaps. I have not had a snake try to bite me when wearing them but I will say that the polypropylene panels that are inside of the chaps feel medium strength. They're not too heavy, but they're not too light either. I would actually rate this pair of chaps as a mid-grade pair of chaps as far as weight goes. The chaps breathe pretty well too, at least at the top of the leg area. The bottom of the leg area is where the polypropylene panels are installed. These panels wrap all the way around the circumference of the bottom of the leg, starting right above the ankle and then going just slightly below the knee. Since the polypropylene panels only cover right above the ankle, it's necessary to make sure to wear a good pair of boots to continue to provide sharp object and snake protection. Additionally, I have to keep in mind when wearing these chaps, that there is no protection at my knee or above my knee, so if I were to run into large mesquite tree thorns like we have here in Texas, it would easily still go through the chap material if they were to come in contact with my leg at the knee or above.I do want to talk about fitment of these chaps because I feel that's very important. I have very thick legs, and I am glad to say that these chaps have a lot of adjustment in the calf area to where they can be either tightened or loosened. They quick snap as well so that they can easily be removed or tightened. Additionally, the chaps have belt straps to keep them in place so that they're not falling down while walking.Overall, I think this is a good pair of chaps. Even if I never run into a snake again, it will be nice to not have mesquite thorns or other sharp brush pierce through my blue jeans if I'm out hunting or just exploring land. They're a very good item to add to my outdoor activities, especially when I'm sometimes 50 to 100 miles away from the closest hospital.
