new twist on an old tale
I enjoyed this twist on an old tale. I have read several fractured fairy tales and bilingual picture books and this one does a good job of bringing in something unique. I loved the Argentinian take that included music, dance and yummy sounding food, as well as language unique to Argentina. The rhythm of the tango and song lyrics gave the story something special as you read the familiar tale and the surprise at the ending made it a little scary and fun. The glossary in the back is helpful in that I wasn't familiar with some of the words and references specifically from Argentina. Beautifully illustrated with bright colors and fun fonts that support the story and the uniqueness of this book.

A Tango, A Tale and a Twist
This fun twist on a classic tale twirls right into the action from the very first page. The way Rachel Hobbs weaves in Spanish makes it an excellent book for children. It offers them the chance to figure out the meaning of the Spanish words from both their context, and the english words and phrases that precede or follow them. The gorgeous, vivid illustrations by Carolina Vazquez also help the reader understand the Spanish words. I highly recommends this book. Fabulous!

Clever, fun children’s book with Spanish phrases
Cute Argentine spin on Little Red Riding Hood. My daughter enjoyed the unexpected plot twist and beautiful illustrations. It is really well made and has a glossary for the Spanish. I’m glad we’re adding this one to our family’s library. The only downside is that now I just want to listen to tango while eating alfajores!

A new twist on a classic
I bought Tango Red Riding Hood as a gift for my niece and nephew. The story is a wonderful introduction to dance, music, and language, and the illustrations are gorgeous. It's a fun one to read aloud, since the pages are filled with rhythm and cadences. I think almost everyone who reads this book, both kids and adults, will learn a little something along the way to Abuela's house.
