This is the 6th U Gears kit I have put together and it is definitely the best yet. The detail is great and the ply seems thinner and more 'refined' compared with earlier of these kits I have built. Unlike some of the other reviews, I had no issues with getting the pats out of the ply sheets intact, and no issues with the strength of the parts. As usual with these kits, it is essential to build them slowly and carefully and make sure all the moving parts work freely before moving on. That said, there are so many moving components to be driven by the spring that friction becomes critical, especially for the wooden chain drive. It took several goes to get this to work properly. Now the thig rushes across the floor with great enthusiasm.....

Nice kit to put together, unfortunately the spring was so powerful it broke some of the holding pieces.

Fantastic quality parts which fit perfectly....I cannot believe how it was designed and made so intricately , a real joy to build....and it zooms across the room as well !!

This is my fourth model - I love the challenge, this is by far the most difficult so far but absolutely brilliant.So much better than daytime TV 11

At one stage of the building process, where you wind in the spring, it directs to use a piece made of the thinner material. This piece was too thin and snapped under the strain of the spring during the winding. No replacement/spare parts are offered and the flaw means the building process cannot continue as parts will no longer fit together.

Spring is fiddly but with patience it all comes together

Nice looking thing once complete, I found the following problems:-1) Tools not good enough2) Parts broke easily3) Wind up motor did not work for me
