Excellent Product
Ordered 3. Excellent clarity with each glass lens, and focus-works perfectly. Field of view greater than 1 inch and lighting is superior. Exceptional for the $$. Nice case. Nice protective cap for the eyepiece viewing lens. Would be nice to have a cover for the scale lens on the bottom. Since there is a nice carry case it is not necessary.

Essential item!
This loupe is essential in my work of repairing and restoring sewing machines. I use it to evaluate the quality and balance of the stitches during final adjustments. Great quality optic and I love the reticles.

Nice Quality
I work in a machine shop. I needed something to look at small features on parts. So I bought this eye loupe. It appears to be well made. The LED lights are nice. I hoped the scales provided would help measure small features on parts. I’m using this as a hand held unit. So you can’t really focus the eye loupe while holding your part in one hand and the eye loupe in the other.I think if you set the eye loupe on a flat surface then the focus and the different scales will work nicely. But if you need to hold a part in your hand and look at it through the eye loupe. Neither of those features work very well.I think it is a good product and I will use it.

Great illuminated view and sharp focus of scale and subject.
Very good for measuring. Sharp focus accurate scale. Great depth of field for the magnification. If if the object to be measured is too far away from the scale you can get slight error so double check with calibers or known object untill you understand.

Too cumbersome to use
While the general quality of this item feel solid in the hand, and the LED brightness is pretty strong and magnification seems correct at 10x, the usefulness of the focal point of the loupe means it has to be pretty much up against the object to focus, virtually touching it.I had the scale lens attached, which sits at the bottom of the loupe, so I can understand why that's there, again, because that's the focal point of the loupe. Due to the focal point, you can't simply sit the loupe on top of an object to view it hands free, like say a desktop magnifier affords. But having to be so close to the object means you need to always worry your loupe lens is not marring against the object causing damage. This loupe is best for flat surface study, but even then, great concern needed to avoid marring the scale lens as you move the loupe about the surface you're studying. If I remove the scale lens, I feel comfortable sliding the loup around a surface, but again, if I needed to say look at a 3D object from different sides, I would have to hold it too close to the loupe, it would be cumbersome to work with it.I have a basic 4x loupe, I can place it on my eyeball socket and hold it in place, and have a 3D object say 2" away in focus. I wanted a similar or stronger magnification with the LED feature, as I often find myself trying to look through smal crevices where I have to move an external light source around to get the right view, but that's one hand too many to use up when maneuvering with a loupe. Now, this loupe claims an adjustable focal length, which I'm to assume is directly related to the focal point. The turning of the knob did nothing to allow me to position the focused object farther away from the loupe. While turning the knob did elongate the loupe slightly, the focus of the loupe remained exactly the same, just outside the scale lens.Maybe this was the defective feature, but I can't be sure. The item received looked new, not previously handled or re-assembled wrong from someone who returned it. I have to believe the adjusting knob is meant for something other than focal length.
