This really helped my back pain!
This is the best book to help you ease that back pain. It has good explainations about both muscle and bone causes pf the pain. The only thing I would have liked to have had would have been one of those charts with a line drawing of all the exercises so I could easily refer to them while doing a routine. I dont like having to turn the pages to find the next exercise. Maybe the author will design a page with an image of all the exercises that we can refer to more easily.

If You Never Want Back Pain...
I don't have chronic back pain and I don't want it. Who does? Still, I found this book very helpful.Based on having found tremendous value it a couple of the author's earlier books, I dropped this book into my Kindle when it first came out. I've now read it and found it useful for me, a seventy-year-old who does resistance training with a personal trainer at least three times a week and who is otherwise very active. I've had low back pain, shoulder pain, ankle pain and the muscle soreness that comes from lifting weights.Clearly, low back pain is common enough among elite athletes that merely being strong and fit isn't preventative. Sutherland points out that repair and prevention require attention. Paying attention to posture and lifting mechanics (using his guidance) has made me more confident in living life. Specific exercises builds muscle in places that might otherwise get hurt.Sutherland goes way beyond the "if that hurts, don't do it" school of therapy. He puts forward exercises that aren't terribly complicated that build a pain-resistant back. And that's what I wanted. His writing style and the artwork is exceptionally clear. His story is bit of a warning from his personal experience to people like me that low back pain is no fun and largely preventable without giving up things you like to do. You just want to be prepared with a strong, resilient lower back and approaches to potentially dangerous movements that reduces the risk of hurting your back. It's well worth the price and the time required to read it, do the exercises and incorporate them into how you move. When a friend needs help, suggest they go on amazon.com and get a copy to read and guide them through restorative exercises.

Totally helped with my back pain!
I burst my L5S1 disc and suffered from severe back pain ever since. This book did wonders to help relieve the pain and to maintain a level of fitness to prevent it re-occurring regularly. The different sections were all helpful - short term pain relief, acute pain reduction and long term back pain prevention. I maintain a daily exercise plan based on his 15 minute routine that is invaluable. Great book!

Deceptive title, false promises (BE CAREFUL)
I have chronic low back pain and this "guide" intrigued me, to say the least. As I started reading, it became more and more apparent that the author is extremely biased and this book is not helpful in the least. A couple things to note:1) The COPYRIGHT page clearly states "This book is for entertainment purposes only." I have a huge problem with this. You promise treatment of back pain in 21 days and then in fine-print, try to shed all liability by claiming your book is for entertainment?2) The author is a massage therapist but weighs in on surgeries and back injections. He may think he has the training or expertise but he does not. This is borderline fraudulant.3) This book focuses on muscle pain and "bulging discs" but neglects joint pain which is what I (and many people) have.I can go on but please please, save your money and AVOID this very deceptive, borderline cash-grab of a book.
