Good budget scanner for simple scans
Flatbed scanner with easy to use software that can do some basic photo editing. USB powered so 1 less cable to deal with. I bought a separate photo editing software. This is perfect for occasional scanning, simple scanning, and if you are on a budget. My old one was a different brand, lasted 20 years with better software, scans negatives but cost $300 then.

Best Scanner Ever!!
This scanner is hands down the best!! I am working on scanning old photos and important documents. This is easy to set up, is the perfect size for my home office and the pictures come out looking amazing!! I love it and highly recommend it!

Useable but cheaply made
It scans quickly but the software is limiting. Their basic scan software isn't user friendly, offers nothing in the way of customization, has no manipulative actions available. It also is very thin plastic and I don't think that it will last 20 years like my last one did. The only reason I changed was because the Epson scan software for it doesn't recognize the scanner since I had to reload everything into a new SDD - the old one just died.

Great product
What a great product.I have always had good luck with Epson products and this is no exception.Simple to use; intuitive steps; excellent quality scans. It is light, portable, and doesn’t need outside power - it powers off the USB port of your laptop.I have struggled with the cheap scanner that’s part of my printer for years. This will save me.I don’t want complicated steps. I want to push a button, scan a document, and be done with it.This thing is great.

does NOT in fact scan at 4800 dpi. False advertising, terrible manufacturer support.
I bought this because it is advertised with a max dpi of 4800. Pictured is the error you will receive when you try to use this advertised maximum dpi, as you can see in the settings. Pictured is the size of the photo I attempted to scan, original 7"x11" pages that were trimmed a bit on one long edge. You will be directed to another Epson USA support if you call the support number listed in Amazon. First level support gave me the "have to check please hold..." runaround a few times while providing no useful information. I kept polite and respectful throughout and never raised my voice throughout the call. When I finally got through to 2nd level support he started by telling me that scanning at 4800 dpi was "too high" for my needs and that I "didn't need it." I had to inform him that this was not *his* decision to make, on the item I had purchased, for the purposes of scanning at that resolution, because it was advertised as possible to do so.The reason I bought this is BECAUSE it advertises the ability to scan documents at 4800 dpi. How maddening to be told "you don't need 4800 dpi" from the guys who sold "4800 dpi" to me.Based on the error message language I asked them what size documents I could scan at that dpi, and they refused to answer that question with dimensions. I asked twice, directly. There is no mention of this "only 4800 dpi at a certain size and we won't tell you what that size is" limitation in this Amazon product ad. There is no mention of this limitation on the product box. Nothing direct in the manual even -- it says in the manual is "Scanning area may be restricted if resolution setting is large." This ALSO is not correct -- it doesn't restrict the scanning area, it refuses to scan. At its advertised resolution. It won't even try, if you set it to 4800 and try to scan anything with its software.Ugh.

Good product
I scanned well over a 1000 photos with this. It is a little time consuming but It works well, especially for the price. You can scan multiple 3x5 or 4x6 photos at once. I was happy with it.

GREAT SCANNER!
Better and larger than I expected, but the size is still OK. The USB cable is long enough that the scanner can be placed on the floor and my laptop on my lap if and when I need to scan. This replaced a HP Photosmart All-In-One printer that was taking up a lot of space along with its own side table, the table which was relocated elsewhere in the house and the print gratefully given to a young photographer who was in turn very grateful to receive it. The Epson produces beautiful, crisp, clear scans, even better than the HP did. Extremely ightweight, very portable, and storable in a filing cabinet when not in use. Love it, love it, love it!

USB Hub Resolution
After 14 months, I got an error message that I couldn't resolve, and was unable to hard reset. I thought the unit was dead, but finally got it working when I connected the scanner directly to the computer instead of using a hub as I had before. It's working now and does a good job.
