Atlantic Water Gardens TWVSC Asynchronous Pump Variable Speed Controller

The VSC pump controller allows me to slow my koi pond pumps down to the flow I desire with ease. This simple to use controller is the only product on the market that I could find to give me the control I need to adjust flow. I had a failure and Atlantic customer service replaced the unit quickly without hassle. This controller has a 3yr warranty that Atlantic lives up to. I now have two of these units and I am completely satisfied with the controller operation, reliability, and Atlantic’s responsive and top shelf customer service.

This pump controller works great. It controls my pump through ten levels of flow, and turns it on and off when I want it to daily. The remote works great from inside the house, and the app from my phone works okay. I think people are disappointed that the controller isn’t cloud controlled. You have to connect your phone directly to the controller’s WiFi network to use the app, which means your phone won’t be connected to your home WiFi. It takes a couple seconds to go into my phone settings, connect to the VSC network, then open the app to control the pump. It’s not that big a deal unless you are expecting something else when you buy it. My biggest complaint is that sometimes when I get home my phone connects automatically to the VSC WiFi instead of my regular home network, meaning my phone isn’t actually connected. The nicest part of the phone app is it automatically sets the time on the controller as soon as you open the app. I do wish they would add the ability to change the programmable timer from the app. Maybe in a future update.

This is about the Asynchronous Pump Variable Speed Controller I ordered online from Atlantic Water Gardens. Based on the description, I thought this would be a good fit for my pond pump (also manufactured by Atlantic Gardens). However, the speed controller was not made for my pump; it did not work. The controller got so hot I had to disconnect if from my power source (the 'on', 'off' button didn't respond on the controller module). I didn't waste time trying to set the clock function (I found that it too was a challenge for buyers). My advice: do NOT purchase a variable speed controller without first verifying its compatibility with the manufacturer of your pump. CALL--speak with a live person for confirmation. It will save you a lot of grief.

Great product works as advertised. Only issue I have controller should have a digital scale 1-9 so you know the setting u are on that would take the guess work out as to what level of flow you are currently on. Also controller is a little flimsy and range isn't that far. However to be fair have not downloaded app. That may address my concerns

Clock time resets when AC power is interrupted. May not be an issue for some but for my use (and for the price), it has to be returned. The manufacturer states "The VSC will retain the flow level and programmed on/off times even in the event of power loss" This can be misleading as storing the on/off times is completely different from retaining the real-time clock time. Most would read this and assume it to save the clock time as well. Costs less than $2.00 to add this clock backup function to any electronic timer using a coin battery or supper cap. This is a simple phase control unit. Some phase controls include feedback signals to keep the output power (to the pump) set to the same desired level regardless of the line voltage fluctuations. I do however give the company a lot of credit for developing such an uncommon control and I do like there TT series pumps.
