An Invaluable Resource for Teens (and Adults) Navigating Anxiety
I recently came across Beyond Coping Skills, and it's nothing short of a game-changer for anyone dealing with anxiety and emotional overwhelm, especially teens. The approach here, blending Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), is a breath of fresh air.One of the standout features of this workbook is its accessibility. The language is clear and concise, making it incredibly easy to read. But what truly sets it apart is the practical exercises. They're not just exercises; they're lifelines. For those who might struggle with emotionally triggered ADD, the exercises are broken down into manageable steps. While the book is primarily designed for teens, how valuable it would be for adults too. Emotional overwhelm doesn't discriminate by age, and the strategies offered in this workbook are universal. Whether you're a teen battling the complexities of adolescence or an adult grappling with life's demands, unexpected diagnoses or intense live changes, you'll find solace and guidance within these pages.I wholeheartedly recommend Beyond Coping as a complement to in-person therapy. It's like having a supportive therapist with you between sessions, providing tools and insights to manage anxiety effectively. It's a valuable resource for teens navigating these tumultuous years and for adults seeking to regain control over their emotional well-being.

Pretty solid content and activities
This workbook not your everyday school textbook, it dives into stuff like CBT and DBT (yeah, they sounded like alphabet soup to me too, but trust me, they're important). It makes these topics understandable for anyone. It's got a bunch of exercises that make you think about your thoughts and actions. The best part is it's not all about fixing problems, but also about appreciating the cool things about you. Sure, it could use more real-life examples or pictures, but the content is solid. You can use it alone or along with the other workbooks from the same author - it's flexible like that.Reading it feels more like a journey than homework, and it can seriously help you cope with stuff and grow. So, it's definitely worth a look!

Excellent Resource For Teens
This book is amazing. The author starts out by giving statistics that verify the need for the book. He then explains the different types of therapy that can help teens understand their thinking/behaviors. Next, he walks them through recognizing the good and working to improve areas in their lives that need work. The book includes easy-to-follow exercises to help them develop their new skills. This book is written for teens but I believe anyone would benefit from reading this book. For someone who has never worked through their issues or has low self-esteem, this book is a great starting point. This book would be good for schools to offer as a course for teens to go through.I am a Gerontologist and do a tremendous amount of training to professionals as well as families and I must say I learned some things as I went through this book. I would highly recommend this book for individuals of all ages to read!

Excellent Self-Introspection Guide
This book lays out excellent exercises for self-help using strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy as well as dialectical behavior therapy (I was less familiar with the latter, and it was quite interesting.) It’s a book that can help someone take control of and adjust their inner thought patterns by intentionally engaging in structured metacognition, which will give birth to new insights and improved relationships (including your relationship with yourself.) The structured pathways to keep track of your core thoughts and patterns, and instructions for visualizations are very helpful. It is amazing how many schools of thought merge successfully in this book, all of which can be life-changing for the better if you commit and follow the instructions.

Well-Written Remedies for Stress Relief for all Ages
The book is very easy to read. Good writing and well-planned organization overcome a potentially dry subject with thoughtful strategies to cope with anxiety and the emotional issues it breeds. Lessons in mindfulness and visualization and clever role-playing exercises arm the reader with a toolkit that goes beyond the usual stress reduction instructions.Beyond is the operative word in this great workbook that is sure to be a blessing to the growing army of teenagers and adults trying to cope with our challenging times.

Good Book
This product is professionally written, well organized, and well edited. I'm not a huge fan of this type of cognitive therapy. It's never benefited me in a terrific way. But I have found that, by and large, writing is an excellent way of organizing and sorting one's thoughts. The downside, of course, is that most people don't like or enjoy writing. Still, the exercises here are good ones, and beyond this product more people would benefit from writing to promote self-reflection and self-healing.
