After 2 replacement remotes didn't work good the 3rd is a star

I am puzzled about Sony and remotes. This remote is the third one in 3 years. All of the sudden after it is : 3 weeks old. It no longer works. So discouraging about Sony and Google T V. Such a bad product.

The signal from the remote to the TV isn't strong enough. I press buttons to select something or select letters in a screen to enter a title into a search box, it either does nothing or enters a letter adjacent to what I've selected. It does not do this consistently. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. I'm returning it to exchange it for one that hopefully works better.

This worked out of the box just by putting batteries. But it will require precise aiming to the centre base of TV which can get pretty tiring. After you add the remote through TV settings it should work much better and should not require precise aiming. I discovered this thanks to another reviewer writing his experience for a different Sony TV remote.I don't use voice control so I did not check for that. Overall I am pretty satisfied with this.

I bought this RMF-TX520U Voice Remote for my older Sony Bravia TV. The original remote buttons were sticking and slow to connect. I am happy with this new remote. It has a soft texture & works perfectly, & I should have replaced my original remote years ago. I did have trouble opening the battery compartment, and used a nail file to pry it open. I left it slightly open & put a piece of orange tape on the back to keep it together & find it easily.

it is super slow and doesn't work unless pointed at the sealing and it will go down when i didn't push it
