This radio is gorgeous, three different light colors it has FM radio, dual band and 127 channels to save. A bunch of many functions. And, a very good price.But unfortunately mine seems to be defective. The PTT doesn't work (does not transmit), but the customers service is pretty good and they sent me a replacement hassle-free .Also look on youtube on how to unlock PTT is pretty easy.

Bought a pair of these. With the longer antenna able to reach out through the woods 25 miles to a repeater. Alot of folks knock these radios but for a small investment they work great. Have used radios for 30 plus years in law enforcement and I am quite sure these would have never held up but with that said to initially getting into ham and learning I think these are great radios. When you get your General license get one of those high dollar ones. If you determine this is not for you you haven't sunk hundreds if not thousands into a radio. Also. I have a roll up portable dual band antenna that will absolutely extend range if you are concerned. The antenna makes a huge difference no matter which radio you purchase. Not GMRS , you will need a technician license to be able to transmit/talk on these other than during an emergency.

Radio preforms well and is easy to program with the Bluetooth programmer. Good user interface. The product description was pretty accurate except my order was short the extra battery. And the programming cable that was stated In the description as being included. Other than that I am satisfied with my purchase.

Great upgrade to the unit I bought back in 2016. Right out of the box I can copy my old radio programing with my phone and the use of the wireless adapter.(which is a huge time saver in the field)..I needed to add another inexpensive unit to my SHTF kits. Now having one in both vehicles and at the price multiple locations in faraday bags just makes sense. Great units for that purpose or some off roading.Pick a few up you will not be disappointed with them.

i was excited to try the wireless programming and having the 771 antenna was for sure a plus. but the box had only the rubber duck antenna. so this was not as marketed. the tool is interesting but will likely not use because the interface is a bit clunky for me on the rx/tx list option. it never did work. the selections were never correct and when it did work it created 3 entries for each identified repeater. just weird. and add the missing antenna - this is a radio that came with a thing that likely will never be used again. cute idea but not as user friendly as i expected. and again... the antenna not being sent was very disappointing.

This is a well build radio. AND this is a super deal. I ordered it to use as a police & fire scanner.The "Chirp" software and the radio does not offer a pause or lock out feature. The only way to lock out a frequency is to delete it using the key pads on the radio. OR, opening up the software, deleting the frequency and then uploading the new frequencies to the radio.It is acceptable to interference that breaks the squelch while driving down the road. I also ordered a shorter antenna. It quiets the radio down. However, you loose about half of the received distance. It works great! Love it.The battery life is great. No worries having two batteries. I ordered the larger battery. Wish I didn't. It really adds weight and size to the radio.So far, so good. Really wish it had a frequency lockout and pause feature. Even a primary frequency option would be nice.For the price. This is a pretty nice radio. Fun to pay with.
