Design Flaw and dimensions are not correct in picture. Decent bracket but could be better!
They Lie on the Dimensions in the pictures. they are only 2 inches, not 2.5 inches. Good bracket but could of bought Simpson. I bought them for the extra length. Only other design that could be better is the side holes could be offset to allow 4 long screws to tie in the 2x4. They offset the holes for mounting the bracket to a post or header, why didn't they do the sides.

Heavy duty, blends in well
I am using this to re-do my backyard patio. So far, I just have the frame up, but I used eight of these already and they're working out great. They are replacing the sheet metal type hangers, and I like how these are more sturdy and heavy duty. They are black and blend in well with the treated wood I am using. The 2x4's fit in perfectly, with the metal length just sticking up about a 1/8th" above the wood. It has rained a number of times since installing them and I see no signs of rust. If I have any left over, I will use them to build a firewood rack.
