Four years after journeying with his uncle to the center of the earth, Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson -- reprising his role) receives a coded distress signal from a place even more incredible and remote: an uncharted island where no island should exist, teeming with strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes and hiding more than one astonishing secret. Despite the protests of his mother (Kristin Davis) and new stepfather (Dwayne Johnson), Sean, now 17, is determined to reach this mysterious island and rescue its lone inhabitant, his long lost grandfather (Michael Caine), before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever. With Luis Guzman and Vanessa Hudgens as a father daughter helicopter tour team, a new journey begins in this follow-up to the groundbreaking 3D CGI spectacular that travels in dimensions that can only be seen to be believed!Bonus Content:- Gag Reel - Deleted Scenes

FAMILY FUN MOVIE!
This is a good old adventure movie with modern CGI for the whole family and as an older blu ray CHEEP to get! If you don't have this in your collection your missing out! I was looking at my collection to watch something I'd hadn't watched for awhile and came up with this little treasure! So if you can still get it from Amazon I would! When you get it make sure you have popcorn and snacks ready to go before you watch it, as it's a fun adventure of an old story! ENJOY!

“ CGI-heavy action, humor, and wild fantasy”
Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012): This adventure film is a fun, family-friendly sequel featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who joins a group searching for the mysterious island of Jules Verne’s novel. It’s filled with CGI-heavy action, humor, and wild fantasy elements, making it a light-hearted escapist movie suitable for kids and adults alike.

Entertaining children's movie
We watched this movie with our 5 year old and 3 year old and we all enjoyed it. The story line was entertaining and exciting which kept our kids intrigued throughout the while movie. The characters are relatable and it shows different family dynamics that are entertaining. Our kids also really enjoyed the scenes with the giant animals such as bees and lizards. And us as parents were thoroughly entertained too and it kept our interest during the whole movie. If your looking for a funny, entertaining and exciting movie that all ages can enjoy this would be a perfect movie.

mediocre story
As far at the movie itself goes, this was not a horrible film but not anything memorable either. The movie is full of middle school drama, corny jokes, and absolutely nothing compelling in the story. The cheesy plot requires a massive amount of suspended belief from the viewer. The acting is decent but nothing spectacular.I was disappointed to see the movie gives a very negative portrayal of father figures and includes a HUGE amount of disrespect from the teenager, with either no negative consequences or *positive* consequences for the bad behaviors and bad attitude. The movie makes the father figures looks like they are jokes, and there isn't really much of a redeeming character arc for the teen.In addition, the subtitles on the movie are HORRIBLE. They are so blurry, it is almost impossible to read them in any language. I was happy to see that the DVD included French language options since the movie is loosely based on a Jules Verne novel, but the subtitles were worthless because of the blurry font.
