Very comfortable weight and feel. Unlike my wood shaft axe, you do not need to worry about damaging it with an over strike. I was expecting more shock feed back than wood but never noticed any difference.I would advise wearing gloves in case it shatters (which I doubt it will) as fibre shards in skin is not fun.Overall great axe which I can see lasting for years.

I bought this axe to replace an old hickory shafted axe, a little unsure about a plastic handle. Having used the axe it’s excellent, sharp and well balanced, reasonably priced and with good guarantee. Easily splits seasoned sycamore and is lighter than my old axe. First time in a long while I’ve used an axe and not been left with back ache given that I’ve had back surgery. Brilliant. Well done Fiscars

Has made log splitting so much easier !

Bought for m hubs who is small in stature. He says it’s light and flies through wood and is super sharp. I’ve never seen him so impressed! Fantastic axe highly recommend for wood splitting.

I never knew an axe could go through wood like this does before buying it. I read reviews prior to buying so if you read this, just understand that this is an unbelievably excellent axe that splits wood with an absolute minimum of effort. I had a load of logs that my splitting maul was making hard work of. This axe demolished the lot, splitting each piece with virtually every swing. It's a right piece of kit.

Good but not quite as good as some of the reviews suggest. Compared to my conventional axe it is better but I frequently have to resort to a splitting wedge to split dry logs from the Lime tree I cut down.

Lovely thing and worth the extra money. A quick tip to the novice. Don’t try to split wood anywhere near concrete… As I learned the technique, the axe blow shortened when trying too hard. It hit the concrete in front of the log and took a big bite out of the nice sharp blade.
