Good sound quality and easy to set up and use. Replacing a JVC which couldn't pick up DAB radio stations. Also fiddly to change stations. Read many reviews and particularly liked ease of use and sound clarity. Thought we had DAB signalling problems but obviously not. Very happy with this purchase. Looks smart in our dining room too.

I purchased the Panasonic SC DM502 - K and had great expectations but was ultimately disappointed. The unit sounds ok, looks good and is fairly well built and not from China. Had to buy the £10 telescopic arial but received 80 odd stations. The main issue was the small screen for searching dab stations with a push button. Most individual stations now have different 70's 80's 90's Rock etc ...As an example Absolute Radio has 4 or 5 different stations - the small screen showed just Absolu.. therefore no idea which one until I had to press the button wait a few seconds for it to select and connect to see which one and then do the process again and again until the right one was chosen. To change to another station you have to go through the whole process again prodding the button - why not a knob where you can spin through the whole 80 stations in seconds and push to select. It does have 5 presets which helps but somewhat limited. I returned it and purchased the cheaper version Panasonic SC-DM202EG-K which does have a larger screen and knob but not very good sound quality so sent it back. In the end I purchased the Pure Evoke C-D6 which is excellent in all respects. A volume and tuning knob- so old school but they work - I can spin through 80 stations and select immediately. CD works as it should. It has equivalent sound & build to the £50.00 more expensive Panasonic + a 3 year guarantee -shame its made in China.

A great mini hifi. Replaced my previous stacking system with the evoke and am delighted with the quality and ease of use. Good sound quality for speaker size and easy to use equaliser. Would recommend.

Bought this as a last resort to replace a 15 year old CD/Radio/Cassette Player for use in the kitchen. Gave up on trying to source a machine with a decent cassette player at this price range and the sound on any CD/Radio player I found up to £150 was inferior to the 15 year old Sony. The sound on the Evoke I would describe as acceptable at this price. At default setting the machine has a very boxy bass heavy sound but with use of the equaliser and other tone controls it is posssible to achieve acceptable sound quality. I find I have to rely on these controls quite heavily as I switch between Radio, CD or any other input, but, as I say, it is posible to achieve acceptable sound that is way beyond any cheaper model I have found. DAB reception is good for me. FM I do have to set to mono. The (online) instructions for setting presets are poor ands so far I have not tried beyond 4. This is more or less adequate for me but I need to have another go. The CD player operates in a similar way to an old fashioned car player. So far so good. The device came with an unncessary sticker which left an impression on the top of the machine. Most irritating. A little soap and water did not remove it! I had to resort to a little white spirit - after testing on the rear of the machine - and this did the trick without leaving any mark.Addendum:To store presets 4+, I followed the instructions for the Evoke H4 which seemed clearer, substituing 4+ for 6+: it worked.CD mechanism noise noticeable in quieter pieces of music, eg Olafsson: Mozart & Contemporaries

The dab signal where i live is weak. I need to connect any radio to an external aerial to get access to most stations. The first Pure radio i owned had a telescopic aerial which could be unscrewed and replaced via an F type connector, to an external dab aerial. However it does not receive dab+. (Classic FM). On the new radio i have fitted an F type connector alongside the aerial by drilling a hole and using a soldering iron. The radio can now be connected to an external aerial and works brilliantly, including Classic FM!
