Sealant-saver
While studying the instructions to apply window frame sealant I came across the suggestion use these strips as a base. It’s actually brilliant in its simplicity and I’m surprised I didn’t come across this sooner. In particular since our house has huge gaps between the brickwork and the window frames. So, to the missus disgust, all kinds of hairy critters and creatures slip in and are frequently founding feasting around the house. Let alone that there are constant drafts and there is excess moist. So I ordered a couple of rolls of these foam strips and went a long. I must say that I expected a much bigger and sizeable roll of foam strip but it just came bound together in an envelope.Want can I say? - it works well. I’m particularly bad with sealant I never get it applied in a smooth manner without creating an awful and sticky mess. But at least with these foam strips I’m not pouring in endless and excess amounts of sealant. The width of the gaps differs somewhat but I was able to squeeze in the foam with a screwdriver after which the sealing/filling was quite easily done. No large quantities of sealant are required, so the drying process is quite fast.As such it is an effective way of working, and a much more cost efficient manner with respect of sealant or filler used. The result is quite pleasing if not better.I’ve also started to use spare parts of these foam strips for other DIY repair jobs where two part wood filled had to be supported from the inside of a half-rotten wooden door. Again this worked well and it is proving a durable, cost efficient solution. .All in quite pleased, will order more strips.

Simple and effective
Used to fill the gaps at the side of the cupboard without having to use loads of sealant, shame it doesn’t come in white.

Perfect for the job
There is a gap between the bathtub and the wall because the wall is uneven. So I bought this so that the silicone sits on it and properly seals the bath. This works ideally and is easy to install, and I have kept a couple of rolls of this to help in the future. It is a good buy!

Save on filler and drying time.
Wish I'd come across this type of stuff years ago. Such a simple idea to limit the depth of gaps prior to filling. Not does it reduce the amount of filler used, the lesser depth results in faster curing times. Not only that this is cheaper than filler. My only grip, which probably wouldn't be valid on larger types, as I only needed the 10mm strips. When trying to get it into narrower gaps, in my case concrete expansion joint\crack stops, it's quite difficult to push it in using a tool narrow enough to fit. I couldn't find narrower strips and in my eye the wider strip makes for a better fit anyway. My recommendation would be to make the narrow strips a little more durable to prevent puncturing during application on narrow gaps.I've left 5 stars as it is a good product and I won't mark it down due to me maybe not using it for the ideal application.

A bit expensive but does the job.
A bit expensive for what it is... but does the job well.

Exactly what I wanted
I was replacing the silicone filler in the expansion joints on the external walls of my house. The gap was approx 8 mm and I found the 10mm backer rod fitted very snuggly into the channel as it was easily compressed to form a tight fit. This left a much smaller void to top up with silicone saving me a lot of time and significantly reducing the amount of silicone I needed.

Bought for reducing draught
This is basically like a solid and mini version of the insulation that you put around pipes. I realise it’s intended purpose is for back filling before using a product like silicone but it’s also good for filling gaps such as between floorboards to reduce gaps.It can actually be squeezed into pretty small gaps If you have the patience. You need to be careful as it tears pretty easily. If your squash it, can be easier and it will slowly expand again.Only issue once had is that if it’s not fully inserted it can come back out at some areas as it expands. Good though and it’s non destructive, not going to damage anything.
