Works Great When Used Properly
Couple things. When ordering, keep in mind, that this covers 1 acre, but the unit itself will be in the center of that acre. So if your property is 1 acre and you set this up in a back corner, it will not cover all of your 1 acre.I strongly recommend the scent lures Dynatrap sells. Toss one of those in the basket and it definitely wont disappoint. If setting it up outside in your yard, YOU MUST PLUG IT INTO A GFCI OUTLET! Can't stress that enough. If something happens and water causes it to short out, the GFCI will trip and kill power to the unit. Absolutely a MUST for safety. Also, if using an extension cord outside for it, I also recommend using a waterproof cover for the cord connection. It is two halves that screw together with a gasket that covers the prongs on the inside. I took it a step further and wrapped some super 33 electrical tape around the entire cover as well to help keep water out. Now, for some context, our house is on a 1.5 acre lot that is all woods, our neighbors have 2 ponds, and the woods behind our property have huge puddles of standing water, so yeah, mosquitoes were a huge problem.I got one of these units about a month and a half ago when the avergae temperature in Michigan was still in the low 50's and remained that way up until two weeks ago. I put one of the recommended Dynatrap lures in the basket and within hours of setting it up, it started to accumulate pesky bugs like biting flies, some mosquitoes that were out early, etc. As the average temperature over the last week or two climbed into the 70's, this thing really started to fill up. After about 3 weeks in the mid 50's and a week in the 60's/70's, it was about half full. However, I could tell where the spots were on our property that this was not covering. I thought, "we have 1.5 acres and this covers an acre, how are there this many spots it isnt covering?" Then it dawned on me that this covers 1 acre, but it would be in the middle of that acre. So if you have it offset to one corner of your property, it wont cover only your property. Make sense? So I ordered 3 more and new lures and lights for all of them for when it comes time to change those, and put them on the 4 corners of our property and holy crap is it a world of difference. Also, been using the small Dynatrap sticky night light things in our house for years and they work awesome too. These DT2000XL's and the night light sticky traps for inside the house are fantastic products and woyld recommend them to anyone!

Buggy
I have really enjoyed this device. It is amazing the bugs it catches.

Works ok, would be nice to have smaller screen to keep some of the moths out.
This device works pretty well, ~4 weeks after installing I had nearly an inch of dead mosquitos in the bottom. I also use an octenol lure pack in the bottom basket so my performance is probably not reflective of the device by itself out of the box, but mosquitos are attracted to Co2 far more than they are to heat or any wavelength of light so IMO an octenol lure pack should be considered the standard.I give it 4 stars because I feel like the screen over the fan could have smaller holes, or the open area on the top could have a mesh around it that allows most mosquitos in but keeps larger pollinators like moths out. I may modify it myself to try this, but as this is it will definitely take a bite out of your mosquito population if used with an octenol lure pack in the basket.

Received Returned/Refurbished unit
I ordered this unit because it was on sale and I hate zappers. They are gross and annoying. It is HUGE. Do not underestimate the size of it. I am ok with this. But what I am not ok with is paying for a new unit, and receiving a used, refurbished one in a plain, brown box. Also, I am missing the angled screw driver to remove the bulbs. Guess the old owner kept it, along with the bulbs as mine didn't have bulbs either. I have asked Amazon for a replacement unit, and it will not be here until Friday.I do however have some 32050 bulbs, so I placed them in the unit. I also have a angled screw driver from all of my Dahua cameras as well. If I didn't have this tool, it would be quite difficult to removed the screws. I put it outside last night and turned it on. It is hanging under my porch. This morning, the amount of moths that it has trapped is staggering. 'I am the destroyer of moths'. I haven't received their scented packet yet, so I used a Raid brand one in it for now. I can't tell if there are mosquitoes or not yet, but I will. I live in the San Antonio area, and the evil blood suckers are insane here! We have a custom beautiful deck, and can't even use it because of the blood suckers.I will give it time and see if it works. I don't want to spray my back yard because of our dog. I hope this makes a difference and lasts us some years. I will put some Dielectric Silicone Grease on the bulb ends of the replacement unit I get before I install the bulbs. If I had paid full price, it would have been returned immediately. It is mostly plastic, and the flaps that are hinged are very cheaply made. MOF, the entire unit is not very strong at all. Time will tell if it last's or not. If the new unit arrives with everything it is suppose to have, and it works well, I will change this post. IF YOU RECEIVE A BROWN BOX, it is a returned or refurbished unit. Shame on you Amazon.I am still on the fence about returning this item. I know they say to mount it away from the sitting area, but I know if I exposed this thing to the elements, it wouldn't last long at all. Then theirs the cost of a heavy duty outdoor extension cord as well. Is it catching bugs? Yes, are they mostly NOT mosquitoes? YES. Mostly moths, beetles, and other unknown flying creatures. Are there mosquitoes in it? Yes, but not nearly enough to justify the cost of this unit. Is it cool looking? Yes. But it has made no difference in the amount of mosquitoes' that we have on our patio. I put a small bug zapper out last night, and that thing is covered with dead bugs...and MOST are the remains of mosquitoes. So no, I do not recommend this unit. It will probably be going back. I would keep it, because it does catch bugs, but I have to wonder is it worth the cost of electricity each month to run it? I doubt it. I cannot recommend.Last update: I am returning this item. I had only a few mosquito's in it. The attractant didn't attract anything (other then moth dust) and it is going back as well. What a colossal waist of time and money. I live central Texas and the mosquito's we have here...not even phased by this thing. Now, if you wan to kill moths..omg...its the best. Probably had 3/4 of an inch of dead moths and some beetles. But thats all. Nope, as a mosquito killer/trap, it is worthless, IMO. I cannot recommend.
