Great reading for a casual art fan.

This was just the book I was looking for! I’m very interested in learning about different types of art so I decided to buy this book to learn more about different artist and their artwork. This was an amazing purchase.

I bought this book to get a basic idea of art history before I take the class next year and I loved it! It's actually very interesting and it gives the important details of all of the movements and techniques and works but doesn't go into so much depth that it gets boring. I wouldn't recommend for someone looking for a textbook but for for everone else, definitely!

Highly recommend for an easy pocket guide to chronological movements. However, it does offer summarize bite size insights. Don't expect to dive as deep as purchasing a movement or artist specific book.

This is an excellent yet detailed summary of the major movements and techniques of art history, accompanied by beautiful glossy representative illustrations. Don't go to a major museum without it!
