Read reviews - to be on the safe side put aluminum tape around farm perimeter. Ordered ants and so far all is great. Big hit with kids and their friends.Definitely recommend. Just don’t forget to do the tape just in case they start borrowing

25 yr old daughter loves watching the ants.

This was a gift for my 5-year-old son who loves ants! It was a little difficult to get all the sand equally distributed through the fill holes, but it only took about 5-10 minutes to have it fully ready to go. Once set up and the ants, which are not included, were added this became a focal point in my son's room that he loves to watch and check on daily! It isn't huge so it's great for small shelves or tables, but still have plenty enough room for the 20 or so ants currently occupying it. Definitely a recommended gift!

Buyer beware! Do NOT buy this ant farm! I wish I had seen the negative reviews for this ant 🐜 farm!😣 The design of this ant farm is flawed!👎 The ants are able to EAT their way out of this ant farm because the entire ant farm is not encased in clear plexiglass. The ants are able to chew through the white porous wall of the ant farm, at the top corner of the wall where the large lid is located. Please see the attached photos to see what I am talking about.If you have the misfortune of already owning this ant farm, I strongly recommend that you place this ant farm in a ant moat! Put the ant farm in a clear plastic basin and then put that basin in a larger basin filled with a several inches of water. This way, if the ants eat their way out of the ant farm & escape, you won’t have ants 🐜 loose all over your room, biting you!😣😰The entire exterior of this ant farm needs to be encased in clear plexiglass so the white porous walls are not exposed!!!

The reviews are correct. It is a very nice looking ant farm but, after a few weeks of ant habitation, the little critters begin to chew through the structure… Our ants made it very close to escaping near the top hatch (they were eating away the top wall near the plastic lid/opening).

So much fun!!
