Not for some cases...
This is a great quality product from well-known reputable company, a PSU with great modularity and great performance, and frankly a good value. Lots of connectors and on the shift model, if that's what you're looking at side mounted connection points. Here's where the details come in. Is this PSU is primarily for cases with side mounted PSU slots, while in a wider case this might work in a flat mount situation, most likely you are going to need a fairly wide case to house the wiring coming off the supply without bending the wires too much. Even then in some side mount cases, or the PSU is mounted on its side, the wires sticking upright can still impede on certain things, for example with the Lian-Li o11 dynamic XL, The upright facing ports for the connectors on the wires to plug into impede with the bottom hot swap hard drive bay. Now if I really wanted to press the wires down flat against the power supply unit I could probably still fit the hot swap bay in the case, but it wouldn't give much room for the wires, nor allow for much passive heat dissipation from the PSU. In this particular instance with the case I chose a standard end connector output PSU would have been the better choice, as there is ample room at the end for wiring clutter, but due to the hot swap bay mounted above the power supply unit, the side output of the shift model is not intuitive for my case.Removal of the bottom hot swap bay in my case alleviated the issue, but also presents the inconvenience of not having all four hot swap bays available. I never thought I would use this feature, but over the years as I have acquired multiple hard drives and stored up massive amounts of data, it actually comes in handy for moving data back and forth between drives. So no stars docked for the design it's actually great, just really think about whether or not you need the side output connectors and whether or not you will have enough room in your case. They make it more convenient to plug and unplug additional wires without having to remove the power supply unit completely, however you may run into spacing issues in smaller cases.Situationally recommended.

Great choice
Great quality, cables are very well built and the fan is super quiet. The side connector built makes it super easy to install and remove the cables. One has to make sure to check if the case allows the space for the side connectors

Efficient & Fully Modular PSU for Modern Builds
Pros:- Corsair Type 5 micro-fit connectors- Side interface simplifies cable management- Super quite even when under loadCons:NoneSlimmer/smaller Corsair Type 5 connectors a much appreciated improvement. Modular side interface more convenient (depending on case) than imagined. Silent & future-proof to last a life-time (in PC years).

Works, stable, silent - side mount nice - 4080/90 connector included
Does what it should. Powerful PC with lots of connections and 100% stable (as to be expected). Very silent. Side mounted cables are nice but not as trouble-free as I had expected. Its still a tight fit when you have a lot of cables and I did need a special connector to make ends meet. I am still sold to the side mount idea and if you have less stuff than I (the 98% will) it will be a huge advantage in cable management. Finally this comes with the special connector for the 4080/90, so no worry about melting plastic. [got the cheaper "as new" version - and mine was actually "new"]

Great quality PSU
Love this unit and the side cable inputs. It makes for a much cleaner setup inside the case. No issues with the PSU at all, it is super quiet and does the job well. My only minor complaint is I wish the cables were braided. The prices for nicely braided cable extensions is a bit much, I would have expected a higher end PSU to include them out of the box.

Gimmicky? - Not as clever as you'd think / may not be as useable.. Check case configuration!!!!
While this looked really cool and I thought it would be a game changer, I would HIGHLY recommend anyone to really check against the case you plan to use and the internal configuration, ie. where the PSU will be mounted.I used this with a Corsair 7000D, so there was a very good chance it would be compatible. While the idea of easier access of cabling via side mounting to the PSU, the thing I realized is that not all cases are aligned to this orientation. Most cases today assume rear mounted cables. This means that they don't always have enough clearance between the PSU and the side panel to accommodate the cables. Given I had a Corsair case, it wasn't a problem. The motherboard cable did seem to be a tight fit but made it work. With this PSU, I do believe it allowed me to keep the 2nd 3.5" drive cage closest to the PSU. If I had used traditional rear mounted cable PSU, I definitely would need to sacrifice this drive cage. It wouldn't be a huge deal breaker as I, like most people, are moving away from HDD to SSD.It worked out for me. Was it mind blowing amazing or evolutionary? I don't think so... I don't think it will be until case manufacturers start considering this PSU into their designs. For now, it's best compatible with Corsair cases. For other brands, really think through whether you'll have the clearances you need. Otherwise, stick to traditional rear cable mounted PSUs.The other reason why I got this particular PSU was because it was the only Corsair one that was ATX3.0 at the 1000W+ range. Needed ATX3.0 to ensure I had the native 12pin power cable for the RTX 4090 to minimize using the octopus adapter that is provide by the card for older PSU. This adapter could increase the chance of the "melting cable" situation for NVidia cards. Native 12pin GPU cable is the way to go. It also keeps things clean and minimized.

Top notch!
Love this power supply. It’s quiet and works fantastic to power my rig with a 4090. This was a great fit in my H6 airflow case. Highly recommend based on the quality of products!
