Chef's Choice220 Diamond Hone Hybrid Knife Sharpener, White

It's not cheap - but by golly does it work! Very, very effective bit of kit which has dealt with a badly damaged blade and returned it to service, and nicely sharpened my expensive kitchen knives. It takes a little practise - and go canny with it because it's capable of removing a lot of metal if you want to.The hone function is excellent - in fact, if the sharpener you buy doesn't have one, it;s not worth having. All the grinding wheel does is profile the blade, and you need to hone it after grinding. This one works very well.Downside? Well, the grinding process does leave a slightly rougher finish than I was hoping for - that said, once sharpened and honed, my big cooks knife really did pass the "tomato test" and slipped smoothly through a nice ripe one easily.

Works a lot better than a manual knife sharpener if you follow the instructions. Too soon to tell if the sharpening mechanism and motor are durable over the long term.

I want to see how long can i use it.- UK plug (you can see on the photo)- use !!!ONLY!!! for the metal type of knifes (and only for knifes!)!-Do not try it on ceramic or you wont be happy with that.- easy to use.

I'm sure that if you buy one and it's the right voltage, it'll do a great job of sharpening your knives. There are very good reviews of this product. The one I ordered and received came from Los Angeles and took quite a time to arrive. Out of the box, it's a nice weighty well made looking piece of kit. Ah oh! It's got an American plug on it. Adapter fitted, plugged in and now read the title of this review.Obviously they sent a 110volt model instead of 220v. Then it's a tiresome repack job, downloading a prepaid label to send back to the States and then a three week wait for a refund.Moral: make sure you are buying this product from a UK company and that it arrives with a British three pin plug. Then you won't have to hunt for your torch and reset the electricty cut-out in your cupboard.

Keeps the knives of all the family in good condition.Just wish it did scissors too.

For years I tried to sharpen kitchen knives by only using a steel. I then found out that a steel is only good for honing a blade. This sharpener was like magic! Knives lie new again.

We ordered the product it came with a US plug connection so we needed an adapter what my husband had but than at the first use it blow up …luckily no one got hurt! The problem was the product came from the UK but it must be originally American because it’s works on 110 plus the plug is US. In here portugal it works 220 so that’s the reason why it happened ,it should be written in the description plus it shouldn’t be sell in these countries. Anyway Atilla is a very genuine seller and send a prepaid DHL sticker and we sent it back to him he did a refund without any problem . Excellent troubleshooting and really respectful responses from him !
