I have owned many android headunits including other xtron units in the past. They were once a really good cost effective brand and tried to bring a bit of law to the android wildwest back in the day when there were a lot of generic units coming over from China.China units were often hit or miss. some were great, others not so much. Xtron were very much bringing a bit of uniform to the units so customers often knew what to expect when they bought one.I had just bought a BMW and thinking I could rely on past experiences I bought this unit thinking it would be great... It was... If the unit you were expecting was top of the range from 2014.Firstly, lets start with the good.The unit was relatively straightforward to install in terms of wiring. 99% of it was plug and play and even with routing all of the wiring like the gps antenna, it only took around an hour.It starts up quickly as you would expect any head unit to. It is usually up and running ready to go within 10 seconds.The touchscreen is ok. I have the screen protector still on mine so at present I think it is a little unresponsive at times but that could be due to the protector.The sound is decent. Although at full blast it really does not feel as loud as the oem head unit even at half maximum volume.The bad;You are provided a microphone line but not the microphone itself... why?the UI is absolutely horrible. Very little modification can be done to it without the use of downloading your own launchers or themes remotely. It feels like the ui your 10 year old designed it.The refresh rate of the screen feels as if it jumps from around 60hz down to around 10hz at times. The cpu feels as if it is struggling just juggling a couple of apps back and forth.I have no reverse camera installed (due to my own laziness, and it is not included) but would have really liked the option to disable the camera when in reverse! obviously if i have no camera i do not want the screen to show me a blank screen with lines all over it.FITMENT. my god the fitment is the worst part. the unit sticks out of the oem space. I imagine this is done to allow for a larger screen but I would have much preferred the unit was a little smaller but fit in the oem space.A couple of facias are provided for the heating controls which are not far off pointless. Fitting the heating controls below the headunit requires removing and damaging the heating unit itself. Not only this, even after it is all completely installed the heating controls stick out slightly from the bottom of the dash which although minor is very noticeable if your looking at it. oh and do you like to actually see the temperature on the temp screen? Too bad. because the headunit protrudes so much, you cant see the temperature screen.Overall I have really not very impressed with this unit. It is a good job I knew how to install this myself. Had I had to pay a professional to install it I would be very unhappy with the final result.UPDATEHaving left the car over night I thought it might reset it's ram and work a little quicker. I was wrong. It is exceptionally slow compared to my other atoto units in my other cars, and another problem I have found is with the split screen.The split screen is absolutely useless. I run Spotify on half and Waze on the other. The only one that is live is the one you have last interacted with. So if I have those apps up, and choose to change track on Spotify, Waze freezes. And vice versa. The split screen "feature" is absolutely pointless. This has resulted in my lowering of the score to one star.

Sound was shocking in my e91 pre lci .so had a gamble with this and was well worth it .quick enough .sounds great android auto works . Added the vibe underseat subs and the plug and play amp and then a vibe 12 inch sub and amp that plugged into other amp and now just sounds amazing

Was all good till 330pm on the m62 when smoke started coming from my dash I had to literally rip it out while driving to discover the yellow wire had caught on fire
