Bought these so my daughter could clip her horse herself and have paid for themselves several times over by not paying someone else to do it. Been using for 2 years now and other than standard blade replacements, works great!

I am by no means a professional groomer but my bestfriend is and unfortunately she moved away. So For the last year I bought cheap pairs of clippers and borrowed $500 clippers from another friend. These by far out rank them all! They aren't the quietest clippers but definitely are the loudest either. My mini horse normally gets antsy when I clip her but she stood still and didn't move a muscle with these! The blade never got too hot for her for me to need to change out the blade but I have seen my friend use them and need to switch and she makes it look so easy and quick with these clippers! We'll worth the money!

It worked great for one use on a clean and dry horse, and now it’s creating stripes in the coat and the top piece keeps falling off. I would like to sent these back for replacement or repair.

I have a double doodle who costs 150 every groomer visit. I decided to try to groom her myself. This was my first try and I was quite impressed. The clippers went through her thick curly hair with ease.One important thing to know: the blades get really hot. This is totally normal, but you have to stop and cool them or they burn the dog. You will know when they get hot because the dog will be very uncooperative. I didn’t realize that at first and thought she was just tired of me cutting her. I bought the Andis cooling and sanitizing spray (aerosol can) and it is wonderful. It also smells great.Don’t be afraid to try grooming your dog at home (as long as the dog doesn’t turn devil dog on you that is!).I’ve cut her 2 more times since and am getting better each time. She may never need to go to the groomers again.

Been clipping horses for over 50 years and bought first Andis about 12 years ago after trying other top rated clippers. This is second purchase for these exact same clippers. Wore out old ones on large TB mare, walking horse and impossible to clip properly without these, mini donkey. Love the wide blade, ease of cleaning and durability. Only brand out there for me now!

This clipper is a replacement for a pair of Oster A5 clippers that were stolen. I'm still not sure if I made the right decision going with this brand & model. The thing is, I had been using those very A5 clippers to trim show horses and show cattle since 1980! Great clippers, super reliable. So, now I bought these. What I don't like is the on/off switch is tight and needlessly small. A problem for me as I get older. I'm hoping it will loosen up some. Yes, it gets hot quick. I never seemed to have that problem before with my A5 but I do use Kool Lube generously. Noise level is acceptable. The reason I went with these instead of the A5 is that the reviews for the new A5 said the noise was bad. You do need to train animals to not be frightened when trimmed. My old A5 were very quiet and I know they don't make stuff like they used to but if these Andis clippers are half as good as my old Oster A5, I will be happy and upgrade my rating. These clippers came with a wide blade. Just ordered a size 40, we'll see if its quieter. Reviews say it is. These clippers have a solid housing which you would expect. Seems well made. Oughta last. I like the quality, long cord. Hope these clippers prove to be a good choice.
