Easy to install - but make sure SSD is fully pushed home
A simple procedure to open the case and insert the SSD. But if the SSD is not fully pushed in to make a good connection the PC (Windows 11) will not recognise the drive, but maybe in Device Manager under Disk Drives, a Raeltek ietm will be shown. In this case, just ensure that the SSD is fully pushed in to the connectors in the case.

Practical at a popular price
Bought on sale. Easy to use and works well with an old Samsung SSD. Very good to use as a backup drive for important files. Will hold laptop drives that are 2.5". If you have a low capacity SSD that has been replaced it can still be useful in one of these.

Works fine - USB cable a bit fiddly and casing a bit flimsy
I initially couldn’t get it to work by inserting my new Crucial BX500 SSD. A light came on but the drive wasn’t recognised on my laptop. I assumed it was this rather than the SSD. However, a quick google search made me realise I would have to set the drive up in the Disk Manager first. Once this was done, it worked perfectly.Only criticisms are that the casing feels a bit flimsy - the lid feels like it might break when you press it to remove it - and the USB cable can be quite fiddly to put in (though I suppose once you have done it once you don’t need to do it again). Otherwise decent value for money.

Out of the box working within minutes no issues Excellent value product.
MY NEED: I had a SSD taken from a PC which I wanted to make use off. This enclosure means that I have converted my naked SSD into a useful USB 3 external storage unit.PACKAGING: The unit came packed in a smart cardboard box and wrapped in white plastic bags giving the impression of a premium productCONSTRUCTION I have bought UGREEN kit before and always found it to be well made and of good quality. This is no exception. The enclosure is plastic but for the price paid (just under £10) I expected nothing else. When assembled the case feels solid and the slide on lid firmly fixed. Indeed it is not easy to remove the lid. You need to push and slide firmly so there is no chance that it will fall off. The cable and USB plugs are up to the quality expected at this price point. Some reviewers have commented that the case is "cheap" plastic, the lid loose, and the case not suitable for expensive SSDs. BUT with SSD's now in the tens of pounds it is likely that this case could be 25% the cost of some of the lower capacity SSD's it is housing. In my view the case is more than compatibly priced and of a make quality to house an SSD – I would not want to spend more - paying more than 10% of the cost of the SSD for a case to house the SSD is not good economics. If you are doing that one must question why the cost of the SSD housing is such a large proportion of the total cost.USE: The enclosure worked straight out of the box. The slide on lid required some firm pressure to remove which was good but the SSD was an easy push fit onto the connector. When inserted the SSD was held firmly and did not move around. When plugged into my PC the unit worked straight away with a blue LED indicating activity and connection. When plugged in for the first time the unit allowed me to use my favourite HDD management app to access the SSD and format and set it up for use.BE WARNED: The unit worked out of the box with no problem BUT I did need to set up the SSD by using my favourite HDD manager app to give it a drive letter. Until I did this Windows was not able to see the SSD. BUT THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE CASE. This is a normal issue with any HDD or SSD. If it hasn't been given a drive letter and correctly formatted it will not be seen by Windows. So if your SSD is not seen by Windows check if it is correctly formatted and labelled and fix that first. The case worked perfectly allowing me to access the SSD with my HDD manager app.ADVANTAGE: It is possible to purchase USB lead with an attached SATA socket which can be plugged onto an SSD. I already have one of these and it is useful for quickly looking at the contents or formatting and SSD. BUT such leads are not really usable when you want to use the SSD repeatedly and everyday. This enclosure provides a hand sized unit which can be handled and picked up and put down after used without worrying about damage to the SSD or the SATA socket on the end of a flying leadVALUE: This is exceptional good value and I will most probably purchase again as I have a number of PCs with SSD's which I am decommissioning and this unit means I can make use of these SSD as external storage.

Nice piece of kit but you may need Disk Management in Windows.
Firstly - to all those people who leave a 1 Star review saying that this item did not work : you probably don't know enough about computing. The answer usually lies here - rightclick on Start and then open Disk Management, where you can Initialise and format disks. Or search for the solution online. My UGREEN didn't work 'straight out of the box' but I soon solved that. I'm willing to bet that there was nothing wrong with any of the enclosures that were returned. The UGREEN is not the cheapest but it's good value for money. The enclosure's build quality is good, the cable is longer than others, and it's got a good operating LED. I'm going to buy another one of these as I've got a few SSDs lying around.
