Foo Fighters

Firstly i'm going to say that this is my favourite Foo Fighters album, bar none. Maybe it was down to the fact that after the suicide of Kurt Cobain nobody could seriously say that they were looking towards Dave Grohl to fill the void, which is of course exactly what he did. Yes, there was an element of surprise when it first came out, but who knew that Dave Grohl could actually write songs this good? Who knew that he had this voice? Without the pressure of expectation, and left alone to make the music he wanted to make, he created a stunning debut album . Amazing opener 'This Is A Call', 'I'll Stick Around', 'Big Me' and 'Alone+Easy Target' are all great songs, and make for a record of some charm. Of course, emotions ran high on its release, he was after all Nirvana's drummer, but it wasn't out of some misplaced sympathy that Foo Fighters was a success. This album is Dave Grohl at his most honest, where i can't help but feel that every album since has become predictable and somewhat formulaic.

This album is an essential addition to anybody's Rock collection.Word of caution: (Anybody who has this album will know this) If you buy this album and are appaled by the sound quality, do not panic; the album is supposed to sound 'shabby', if I needed a word. Basically, this album is a Dave Grohl solo project and he is working under the title of Foo Fighters. The album sounds shabby because it is basically an album of 'demo tape style' recordings... and is supposed to sound that way. Overall though, it isn't a big issue; the album is brilliant and hosts some amazing songs.For me, the best tracks are the first 7 tracks on this album (my favourite, overall, is 'I'll Stick Around'). You simply have to admire that this is Dave Grohl... on his own, playing all instruments... genius!!!Happy Listening.

This is where it all started . Debut album from one of the most iconic bands of the last few decades . Cracking tunes , great musicianship & the beginning of a great body of work from the Foos . Compare it to the recent Concrete & Gold record & you'll see the progression over the years .

What can I say.....Foo Fighters are amazing. I have recently got a record player (regards planer) and have just started my collection of vinyl so who better to start with.Delivery was quick as usual. Thank you Amazon.

I loved Nirvana and enjoy a lot of the Foo Fighters material. In my opinion the Foo Fighters, despite being an amazing band (especially live) have never topped this debut album. I always judge an album as a whole rather than just for one or two great songs, and this album certainly is packed with quality. The only other album that tops this is Appetite For Destruction for maintained quality throughout.

Foo Fighters è il primo album in studio del gruppo musicale statunitense omonimo, pubblicato il 4 luglio 1995 dalla Roswell e dalla Capitol Records.Registrato in poco più di una settimana, le tracce variano da un genere musicale all'altro, mischiandole insieme e rivelando lo stile del cantante e compositore Grohl. L'album è semplice, con canzoni fatte per divertire e per piacere, senza scopi di denuncia sociale.Quasi tutte le parti strumentali dell'album sono eseguite da Dave Grohl (l'unica eccezione è una chitarra in X-Static suonata da Greg Dulli, membro degli Afghan Whigs, con cui Grohl aveva suonato prendendo parte a un supergruppo nella colonna sonora del film Backbeat - Tutti hanno bisogno di amore nel 1994).

Album di debutto per il progetto post-Nirvana di Dave Grohl che lo registrò in una settimana circa suonando tutti gli strumenti, anche perchè non aveva ancora cercato i musicisti con i quali avrebbe poi formato la nuova band. Anche se si sente in alcuni pezzi un richiamo allo stile dei Nirvana, è altresi evidente l'impronta tipica di Grohl che avrebbe poi caratterizzato il proseguo della produzione dei foo Fighters; nel complesso è un album piacevole, anche se un po' acerbo, che si lascia ascoltare volentieri.

Liderando su propio grupo, a la voz y a la guitarra, nos ofrece 12 temazos en un disco redondo, con un inicio con cuatro canciones para enmarcar. De hecho, aunque la cara B del disco es muy buena, a veces me cuesta pasar de la A. Me parece un gran disco, imprescindible en mi colección.En cuanto a la edición, un único disco, y sin libreto. Es una edición muy muy sencilla, que sólo incluye el disco y un cupón para descargarlo en MP3, aunque como siempre, Amazon nos da la oportunidad de hacerlo desde el momento de la compra.Mejores canciones: This Is a Call, I’ll Stick Around, Big Me, For All the Cows

Questo è il primo album di un Dave Grohl che cerca di superare l'esperienza dei Nirvana e il lutto per la morte di Kurt. Si sentono le origini grunge ma si intravede quella che sarà la vera natura dei Foo Fighters negli anni successivi.Non può mancare nel proprio repertorio grunge e anni 90

The best album from the Foos hand down. Sounds great on CD even better on vinyl. Has that extra crunch.. it's as if Mr Grohl has made his way into your living room and is gonna have you singing along and head banging in no time!

Grande album, buon vinile...Servizio Amazon rapido e preciso come spesso accade.Pensavo di acquistare un LP dei Soo Sighters, ma al momento dell'ordine la mia zeppola mi ha fregato e mi è arrivato questo.Ottimo LP, l'influenza del passato (ai tempi ancora recente) di Dave si fa sentire prepotentemente.Vinile di buona fattura. 5 stelle.

Che dire sul primo album dei Foos?semplicemente spettacolare!registrato in una settimana, canzoni potenti, la rabbia e la voglia di scrivere la storia di Dave hanno dato l'inizio di una storia che non finira' mai.This is a call, Dave!

Album di debutto del gruppo, in cui l'ombra dei Nirvana, a tratti, affiora abbastanza. L’edizione in vinile è quella 180gr. e qualità della registrazione è buona.

I have to say, the quality of this pressing is amazing as far as I'm concerned. I have loved this album since it was released and it sounds better than ever, way better than on cd, at least on my system. I also have The Colour and the Shape and Wasting Light on vinyl and they are also stellar pressings. The only problem I have is that they never made it a 180gm release. It would have been icing on the cake to have a nice heavy pressing of this classic, same goes for Colour/Shape. I would highly recommend this album to any fan of hard rock /alternative music, I can't imagine that there are too many people who have not heard some portion of this album at some point in it's existence. Even if you do not listen to vinyl pick this up on some format or other, it is a great album to rock out to. Check it out!

Primo album dei Foo Fighters. La qualità del vinile è ottima. Credo sia l'album più spontaneo di Dave Grohl; Kurt Cobain avrebbe apprezzato molto questo lavoro. E' un album spartiacque tra quello che erano i Nirvana e quello che poi diventeranno i Foo Fighters.

Registrato in pochi giorni e suonato interamente da Dave Grohl "Foo Fighters" è l'inaspettato esordio di quella che sarebbe diventata una delle band icona del rock mondiale.Questo LP merita le 5 stelle perchè è una pietra miliare per tutti gli amanti dell'alternative rock e ovviamente per i fan dei Foos.Oltre alla straordinaria storia che c'è dietro questo disco vanno ovviamente messi in risalto anche i brani in esso contenuto. Da "This Is A Call" a "Wattershed" passando per la splendida "Alone + Easy Target" (che piacque anche a Cobain) e "For All The Cows". Senza dimenticare la dolcissima "Big Me" suonata tuttora nei live.E' la prima prova di un sorprendente Grohl, all'epoca considerato solo un talentuoso batterista.Consigliato agli amanti del rock, del grunge o dell'alternative in generale. Obbligati all'acquisto i nuovi fan dei Foo Fighters che si sono persi i primi passi di questa leggendaria band.

Come saprete si tratta del primo lavoro dei Foo Fighters ed indubbiamente si tratta di un grande album! Nel corso degli anni il loro suono si è notevolmente evoluto e perfezionato ma questo disco raccoglie le idee del periodo post-Nirvana. Un disco piacevole insomma.

Come qualità audio e del package non mi ha convinto molto, forse perché essendo appunto il primo album, risulta un po' acerbo.Comunque 4/5 canzoni mi sono piaciute.
