Beautiful Green Kentucky Rye
I planted this seed after raking up all of the dead grass and then seeded the 40 sq feet by hand. Afterwards I placed top soil over the seed so that the birds wouldn't eat the seed. I watered the area every morning and after 10 days I could see the grass rising from the planted area. This grass is very green and is growing at the rate of my normal grass. It has been 3 weeks and I am still watering this area once every morning and it is growing very well. I still have 80% of the seed left and will use it in the early Spring on other areas in my lawn that require seeding. I would highly recommend this grass seed/fertilizer mix as I am very particular and want to make sure the new grass grows and looks the same as the rest of my lawn. Good luck!

Works spotty in clay dirt but works
I covered my tiny yard with seed and I had a lot of rain at first and I haven’t exactly followed the watering instructions but the spots I caked it down are flourishing and is still patchy but it’s growing well. I didn’t mow layed tons of seed and just been pulling weeds every other day as once they’re tall enough they come out easily root and all. Half my yard is weeds and the other is several different types of grass but very patchy so again work in progress… I will let it come in and continue to pull the weeds out and will definitely be buying another big bag for the second iteration of patchwork. I have no weeds in the spots that were bare prior to seeding. I don’t think it took everywhere as I have hard clay soil so all the pre steps were impossible to accomplish. I’m in Oregon as for the geography of where I’m trying to get this to grow. So far it’s thick in spots and only about an inch two tall.

Decent Kentucky Bluegrass seed
This seems to be a good price for 7 pounds of Kentucky Bluegrass seed; even better than the bulk bins at the local farm store. In my ongoing battle to eradicate all the unwanted grasses in my lawn, I've used this same seed for several years now. Those pesky weed grasses need to be completely killed with poison (RU). This is good for reseeding the dead patches and overseeding the area to build a nice lawn.Plant when temps are cooler in the spring or fall. Kentucky Bluegrass seed needs a lot of water until established, especially during the first season. After the grass is more established, water only as needed to allow the root system to strengthen and grow, reaching deeper into the ground. Weeds always happen, so those are to be expected. This is a good product and I will continue to use it.

Water, Water & Water, or go with something besides Blue Grass
The grass is coming up, but slowly. Kentucky Blue takes a lot longer to germinate than most grasses, and during that time needs a lot of water. I overseeded my lawn and fertilized a week later, so that the old grass didn't grow and choke out the new seedlings. I wish I had waited two or three weeks, because the new grass is growing, but it has to climb up through tall grass. In the attached picture, I placed 10 seeds on a piece of paper towel. There are 6 seeds that germinated. KBG seeds are very small, so 60% of the seeds in a bag, is a lot of seedlings. The bare spots in my yard are filling in gradually. The new grass is still a light colored green, but I look forward to seeing it once it matures, and turns "blue". All in all, very satisfied so far.My process-Core aerator in two directions (perpendicular)Spead the seed using a rotary fertilizerv spreader (two directions)Watered 4 times a day for 10 minutesFertilized with "starter" fertilizer a week laterI did mow after two weeks from sowing seed, the lawn was just getting too tall.I am pretty sure that this is going to work out well. Product was easily within best by date, no regrets.Follow up,Now a year later, I am not all that impressed. Part of that is because the fall was very odd here (Northern Michigan) in 2021. Little snow, but cold and windy and very hard on young grass. A lot of winter kill all over the county, so I can't say the seed is at fault. However, the bag says 3 pounds, but 50% of that weight is filler/fertilizer, so I actually needed to double the amount of bags, inorder to have an acceptable overseed coverage. Just offering a "heads-up" if you decide to order this seed. I plan to overseed again this fall, but will be using a different bluegrass. The cost will be comparable, but the number of seeds will be doubled.

Bad batch?
~10% of seeds have germinated.Unfortunately, I haven't checked the product expiration date, so I can't tell if it was expired. I've been using Scott's seeds for many years - bad batch? Amazon selling expired seed? Don't know :(

Works great for MN!
Grows fast and repairs area like I had with grub damage. I love that is had added fertilizer to help the seeds take root. I will buy more when needed as this is a very reputable brand and it was way cheaper than buying at a store
